  • Optishot not registrering any swings

I am in the process of finishing up my Optishot setup. I ended up having to uninstall and reinstall the software because the program would crash when trying to load a course. I was able to resolve that issue with the reinstall but when i attempt to hit a ball on the driving range none of my swings are being registered by the swing pad. The green light on the swing pad is on and I can see the device listed as a USB input device in my computers device manager. I have also tried multiple lighting configurations with no luck, it will not even recognize my putter. Am i missing a step in the setup process? Has anyone else had this issue?

    Have you tried different clubs?

    Have you calibrated your clubs?

Have you taped your clubs with white duct tape?

      Yes I tried multiple clubs.

I attempted to calibrate my driver but the swings were not being picked up by the pad.

I ordered some white duct tape online and it should be delivered today, i will tape the clubs and see if it helps.

Go into your"programs" list in Windows and in the Dancindogg folder look for the swing pad diagnostic then test your sensors.

        Good luck

I'd try what Maxxx says first to make sure your sensors ok, if it is have you tried installing the latest video driver on your computer again? With you saying the software crashed when you started a course reminded me of the issues I had which were resolved by installing the latest drivers. Worth a shot if running out of ideas

I updated the video drivers right before uninstalling the Optishot software, these two things helped fix the course crashing problem like you said.

I am going to run the Diagnostics program tonight and tape my clubs to see if it makes a difference. I only found one other post on another forum about someone having the same issue as me, he ended up returning the swing pad for another and he no longer had the issues. Hopefully I don't have to go this route.

Update: Ran the swingpad diagnostics program and also taped multiple clubs with white vinyl duct tape and the swingpad is still not registering my swings (with or without a ball). I have emailed optishot support but haven't heard back on this new issue yet. I have requested a new swingpad from the seller and they shipped me a new one out today, didn't want to delay playing any longer but it looks like this is my only option unless anyone else has any other ideas.

when you ran the pad diagnostics did it not show any sensors as "green" when you swung club over them? Only thing you could try would be a different USB lead, or a different port on laptop, but by sounds of it its a faulty pad

See attachment. All sensors are reading properly. I will try a different USB cord and see if it makes a difference. Thanks for the suggestions.

As John recommended, I would also try a different USB port on your computer. Even though the diagnostics see the Optishot and the sensors test out ok, there could still be an issue with the USB port when data is transmitted. If a different USB cable and port still have undesired results, I would recommend connecting it and loading the software on a different computer and try it one last time before returning/exchanging it as a defective unit.

Tried a different USB port and cable as well as installing the software on another computer and no luck. I requested a new swing pad from the seller and it should be here today. Do I have to uninstall the software and reinstall with the new software key or will the software allow me to just update the key once it detects the new swing pad?

Your fine, the swing pads are plug and play.

AD33... What was the outcome? I am just setting up my optishot and have 2 LED Spotlight bulbs aimed directly at both sensors. I have also tried uninstalling/reinstalling and also did the sensor check. All the sensors are good. My optishot still will not calibrate any of my clubs. PLEASE HELP!
