Optishot Club Taping

I taped my driver per the YouTube video CatMan made utilizing the exact same tape he had. A few holes into a round and I am ripping my tape in spots (mostly the white reflective tape which also tears the gaffers tape as well). They are small rips but annoying. Could it be the tee I am using? I am currently using the plastic Pride Evolution tees but have ordered some winter tees to use. My turf is the Ulti Mat 2 with the Optishot turf insert (thick turf). Is the tape tearing common or am I doing something/using something wrong? Thanks.

And to answer my own question, it was definitely the tees. I am now using the Tomahawk NEO tees and they work great. They do not fly all over the place and do not mess with my club taping.
