  • broken IR sensors

Anyone know the specs on the IR sensors. I have 7 missing from the front row in the center. The optishot sensor app shows 3 sensors aren't reading correctly (7 missing... 3 are receivers and 4 are transmitters) I bought some 940nm IR transmitter and receivers off amazon and soldered them in, but they still don't work. I cant seem to find any info or any replacement parts for this thing. It still works as is, but gives erroneous hits sometimes and perfect shots down the middle don't always read. I have seen a couple videos of people resoldering in new IR sensors but they don't have and specs on what sensors they have or where to get them, Any help is appreciated.

Figured out my problem. The IR sensors I bought off amazon actually work now. They are just reversed. Typically the square pin hole is the positive and the longer leg on the sensors are positive, but for some reason these are swapped. So I took the new ones out and put in different ones lining the longer pin up to the round hole and now my sensors are all working again. For reference the product I bought is:
FORIOT 2 Sets 50Pcs LEDs Infrared Emitter and IR Receiver Diode 5mm 940nm Infrared Emission and Receiver Diode(100Pcs in Total)[Light Emitting diodes (LEDs)]
They were around $5.00 for 100 (50 transmitters and 50 receivers)

I haven't had the chance to test out the optishot yet, but the sensor tests are all working now. Hopefully this post will help someone else.

Hi Gigolo Joe, Do you have any update on this post? I am looking into replacing the LEDs on a couple of optishots. I bought the package you mentioned from Amazon and the sensors do test ok, but you can't see the sending leds light up, so I think I should use 850nm rather than 940nm. Not sure if it really matters if I can see the lights on not, but they must use something less than 940nm to see the glow.

Any luck Jdobbins? I'm about to do the same thing but want to confirm that the sensors fully work on the Optishot before ordering them.

Did anybody have success? Looking at repairing mine also. What LEDs did you use? Did they work?

I am testing some 860nm emitters and they seem to work. It passes the sensor test and is playable. But I am having hit or miss issues with the emitters lighting up. Like the guy above said, you may need to mess with orientation of the LEDs. Do the sensor test before you solder.

Hi all.. I am new to the group but I wanted to share with everyone that I have replaced the IR emitter and receiver diodes that were broken/missing. I also had to replace a few SMD 47ohm resistors and solder another smaller resistor back on. It all appears to be working.

I havent tested it out on a full swing but just tilting the driver head on a small swing seems to be able to pick up each club face angle.

The OP had mentioned that the positive and negative pins on the emitter need to be reversed. That had also worked. I use the 940nm IR emitters that I had from many years ago and it works.
