Unlocking Courses for Free
I wanted to get an idea of how many people would be interested in sharing course files in a central repository so that we could all play all courses.
I am a software engineer and use the Optishot 2 software. A few years ago, I emailed their Support and asked why Sweet Magnolia wasn't available as they always made it so for two weeks during The Masters. They replied that they were no longer offering it but that I could buy the course for $200. That angered me so I took matters into my own hands. I hacked the single-file database and within a couple of hours was able to play it as much as I wanted forever. I am pretty sure I could do this with any course. I simply need to get my hands on files that are on people's computers as I don't have all of them downloaded.
Since the company killed their online play and no longer support this product, I was hoping to get people to share files with me so that I could create a database to drop into the filesystem which would unlock all courses for each of us. I still use the system in my garage during winter.
