  • Launch angle camera not consistent

    Hi.

I was wondering if anyone on this forum have a setup with the P3ProSwing and also a webcam for the launch camera setup.
I simply can’t get the launch camera to be very consistent at all. I’ve set it up pretty much like they specify in the manual and also played around with the position of everything, the lighting and the settings for the camera it self. Nothing seems to give me consistent readings. There is usually a few good ones followed by a lot of bad readings, where the software thinks the club or the screen is the ball. Also sometimes it just doesn’t see the ball at all...

So if anyone has a setup that works consistently I would very much like to hear how you’ve made it work.

I had a P3proswing for over 10 years. I had the Launch angle camera setup for at least three of those. I used a HP HD-4110 webcam for the vertical launch camera. I also did not get accurate results when I set the camera up per P3pro's guidelines. What I did was set it up such that I had good consistent ball streaks. I put another camera behind me and measured where the ball hit the screen, then hit various clubs. I calculated the launch angles and adjusted the camera position until the calculated and measured launch angles were the same/similar. It worked very well after that and the improvement in accuracy was significant. I did struggle with it for quite a while.

And what did the placement of the camera, lights etc. end up looking like? Where did you have to place the various things and did you have to change a lot of the camera settings?

Sorry, I don't recall most of the details. I know the light called out by P3proswing did not work well at all. I could not get a consistent ball streak with it. I ended up using one that was brighter and had a way to focus the light.
