I pulled the trigger on the MGI Navigator. I took it out this week for a couple of rounds. Initial impression: the easiest (less fatigued) time I've had walking a course ever. Easier than a manual push cart and definitely easier than a carry bag. There was and continues to be a slight learning curve but it's actually more like establishing a routine with the cart around the tee boxes and greens. The more I use it the less I will have to think about it which will allow me to focus more on my next shot.

I find the remote super easy to use and quite precise. The Navigator has 6 speeds and can be sent quite a ways ahead of you and wait for you. It is steady and doesn’t veer off the intended direction. It doesn’t have the follow mode but since I‘ve never had a motorized cart before, let alone one with a follow feature, I don’t really regret not having it. If anything I follow it. I’m not sure how I would feel about the non-remote carts. You do have to be cognizant that if you are going to place the remote in your pocket while putting/swinging, be sure to press the lock button first. I had one close call.

I haven’t tried it in wet conditions yet. One thing to keep in mind is that the umbrella extension accessory is a must as the umbrella attachment that comes with the cart attaches rather low on the cart. It may have been designed with Hobbits in mind. As I am 6’4” I probably will get a second umbrella extension. I will continue to post impressions as I get more rounds in but that said I have been very impressed with this cart.

My forecaddy 3 month review***

I played this past weekend with a guy who waited for the Q follow...I should have waited. The build quality of the Q is Mercedes Benz vs the first generation Kia of the forecaddy. My motors now sound like they are constantly stripping the gears each time I run it vs the super quiet motors of the Q.

The follow mode is much smoother on the Q. Mine squeaked and rattled down the fairway all round long while his ran whisper quiet in comparison.

Knowing what I know now, I would buy the Q 100 times out of 100. The Q is far superior to the forecaddy in every way except for the button controls on the handle..

Oh no - glad I read through to the last page - your first impression was so positive. Mostly it's the wait for the Q here in the US that's got me down...

Mine makes zero motor noise. I look back to see if it’s there all the time.

mthunt pwade3 Took mine for the maiden voyage today. Really impressed with the engineering. Played 18 in three hours and only used one bar on the battery. All of the included accessories are well designed - the motorized cell phone clamp is simply too cool. Actually, my only issue is that the cell phone holder popped out a few times from its socket on the arm - not cool on pavement. Need to figure a way to tighten it up. Other than that, all the bat caddy and MGI guys were staring as I walked, stopped, swang, and walked without touching the control. So far, very good.

I've logged 87 miles on the MGI Navigator. So far so good. Cart is holding up well and performing as advertised. I've used it in rain and in oppressive heat, on hilly terrain and soggy fairways. No issues with mechanical performance nor with battery life. Remote functions continue to be responsive. The use of the cart makes walking a breeze. Hard for me to imagine ever carrying a bag or manually pushing a acrt again. My cart came with a seat attachment which I have never used..still in the box. The phone attachment is not the greatest if you have the larger iPhone...had my phone come loose and fall off when going over bumby terrain. My one other pet peeve is I'm not a fan of the dial on the center console on handle bars to regulate speed when using the cart in a manual power assist mode. At times I find it a little annoying to put the cart in the desired speed. I seem to over shoot my desired walking speed of 3 or 4 and then the cart wants to go and then have to do a full stop. This happens maybe once or twice a round but is in no way a deal breaker as I pretty much use the remote 99% of the time.

Up to 114 miles on MGI Navigator and no issues to report. Played a round yesterday with a friend who has the Stewart XIX Follow cart. Its the first time we've played t***her using the electric trollies. The Stewart is definately a unique looking cart and the follow feature was very cool. I was suprised at how loud it was it was and at times a bit jerky in the follow mode as it made adjustments to my friend's walking pace. The course was a bit hilly in some places and that always presents some challenges for these carts. He did commnet how quiet and smooth he found the Navigator to be. His cart came in at $1000 more than the Navigator.
