  • Protee default settings

I am relatively new to the forum and to my protee. I have both cameras and the putting sensor. I try to read as much as I can in the forum about settings. So I am wondering why there are so many changes to the defaults to get to a Zmax setting that sounds like it is the preffered settings. Basically I guess I am wondering why the defaults aren't set more to what Zmax settings are in the first place?
Thanks for any discussion on this.

It's been a while since I looked at all that but protee integrated a lot if not all of his settings at one point. I believe my settings file came with those changes.

Agree with Bnorman....you have to be real careful when joining this forum and reading old posts. There is tons of good info here but, there is also tons of outdated information here as well. Most of the old information about playing online, going to "Q" school and all that stuff is outdated. Same as protee settings.

Probably would be a good idea to remove or archive a lot of messages here.

As far as ProTee settings, the defaults usual are the best settings to use. I think the only changes should be to adjust for environmentally unique situations, etc.

Good point and idea on the archiving gene, I remember trying to cypher old messages that didnt apply anymore. There were a lot of conflicting ones. I did think of one thing I changed with alt e and thats the camera setting i.e. PT*. They have came up with some better algorithms in their new releases. This has really improved the white driver head and wedges. They have good commenting on each algo. I would be glad to send what I have on those if you want, Brenniet, but they are not the same setting for h cam and v cam and I could explain why. I would need to be looking at my settings file though at home and I am at work. I think there are some pitching settings too to avoid the 150 yard sand wedge thing I could point you at, these are changed in the interface though, not the alt e. Not sure on the default for pitches and chips always straight as I read a recent one that says one is defaulted to true. Make sure both are false. That would need to be done in alt e.

Thanks for the heads up on some of the older information on older posts. I think I have my system set up fairly good at this point. I do find the lack of spin on my shorter irons may need some sort of adjustments as they seem to release and run out pretty far when I hit the greens. Same with the short chips that are around 7 yards, seem to really run....but maybe could be the firm greens of the course I am playing??
