Starting Build - Advice Please

New guy and I've got the bug pretty bad.

I have a 2-car garage I am completely repainting walls, and sealing/painting the floor. Space not an issue and I
am planning a permanent setup. I have decided on the Pro Tee system.

Here is a basic question I am going back and forth on. Do I want an enclosure? or do I go with just a screen about
a foot off the wall with the proper net, backing, etc.? I like the clean look of just a screen but is there an advantage of
having an enclusure that I am not thinking about. Would having a net then covered with black material create a better viewing experience?

Is the enclosure just for keep wayward shots from flying everywhere or is it more to it?

Maybe a dumb question, but could I have some opinions on the pros and cons of having an enclosure?

In my experience it would be nice to have some protection on the sides. It really depends on how you use it though. I would never let an inexperienced golfer hit in my garage because of the lack of protection on the sides. I've hit my share of shank balls and it's not fun ducking to avoid being hit by a ball. Then again if you are a really experienced golfer and only you and other experienced golfers will be hitting, then it's probably fine with just the screen.

The rule of thumb with a sim is prepare for anything. You can just use side curtains for shanks and some kind of padding or hard surface for the ceiling. Balls can really go flying around.

+1 agreed - if i don't get my basement room dug out this year i'll probably add side curtains of some sort.

Since you are going ProTee you really need BLACK side curtains especially opposite the vertical launch camera. Any light colored object will cause the camera to locate that spot and may cause misreads.

Gene, with my set up I used 3/4 inch emt pipe to build my frame and it's 8 ft tall x 10 ft wide. The side panels are 5 ft. I have a blue tarp on the side panels to block out any light. You can use black tarp as well works just fine too. You have to build up your floor for the protee sensor pad which is 2.75 inches thick. What I did was I bought a stance mat that was 1.75 inches thick then used half inch wood panels to build up the floor. I think par 2 pro sells the stance mat already pre cut for the protee sensor mat, then just use that as a template to make the opening in the wood to fit the sensor pad into. Cut the wood to match the stance mat. Then once you have your 2.75 inches then your all set. What I did was, once I measured the correct distances I bolted the wood platform right into the concrete then screwed the mat into the wood for a perfect fit. You have to leave some space on the bottom right hand corner of the platform to feed the protee wires through in order to connect it to your computer. Here are a couple of pics of my set up.
