Sensor pad position question.

I'm about to pull the trigger on the ProTee system. This forum has been so helpful helping me to narrow down my simulator system. Before I place the order I have one question, can the sensor pad be placed 10" to the right of the center of the screen?

NVM, I found the answer posted by Vance in the installation thread. Unless ProTee is against this setup, I'm going to use this suggested recommendation.

If you plan on playing TGC we have a built in offset feature. You can align you center view with the position of the sensor mats. ProTee Golf does not have this option.

Yes I'm planning to play TGC. Should I stagger the main sensor to the right and have the putting sensor to the middle? What do you recommend?

the putting sensor has a short whip which is exactly the spacing provided in the installation guide and to offset would be tough to do if it even would work. you would need to buy an extension and I think to get accurate readings it needs to be used with the sensor. For very short putts like 2 foot putts are done with out the sensor as it does not read very well with a tap in from the main sensor i would definitely ask pro tee on this one never tried to modify off what is directed.

We recommend to place the putting sensors directly in line with the main sensors. You will need to extend the cable if you want it differently.
The putting sensors will read less than 1 foot putts. For normal putts you place the ball about 8" in front of the putting sensors. For really short putts place it 3" in front.

I'm not sure why you would stagger given TGC now has the ability to offset the image? If you stagger that just ensures no setting can be correct.

Also just fyi my system is offset more than yours. I tried the tgc offset feature but actually found I prefer the ball leaving from the center of the screen even though I hit offset! It is a gc2 so I hit and putt from the same spot.

Everyone is different but it isn't a given that with a 10" offset you even need to do anything.

Thanks pro tee on the tutorial on the putting I have been putting from the hitting sensor all this time it worked great but sometimes i had a putt 20 feet to pin and i swear it went 50 feet will try this out tonight if it works it will definitely improve my score

Oops.. Yes you need to place the ball 8" in front of the putting sensors exactly in the middle. When you putt from the sensor mat you need to putt 4' or more before it even reaches the first row of putting sensors. You will notice a huge difference

From this center point, 8" in front, you can putt up to 35 degrees left or right. We do recommend to try to putt always straight and use the camera to aim left or right (arrow left/right).


PS. The putting sensors are very sensitive. There is no audio trigger. The putting mat will activate when the putter is selected in the game. If you walk over the putting sensors or wave your putter over it, it might launch the ball.
