turn the mat over and push it back through from the bottom. you'll have to replace the rubber tee holder every once in a while depending on how often you catch it fat. you'll have to do that from the bottom as well.
You can push the rubber tee down far enough that you never actually hit it, but in any case it's worth your while to put something under the rubber tee so that it can't be pushed down too far.
I think a plastic pop bottle cap is what some have suggested. I did this when I set mine up and have never had a problem.
I've had this problem as well, and I decided to abandon the rubber tee. A friend gave me a set of BirTees and I've used them ever since. http://birtee.com/en/?page_id=188.
dclindner, using the birtee do you have to place the tee further ahead of the normal ProTee rubber tee location ? I looks like if you tried to set it over the rubber tee location part of the birtee would cover the sensor. If you place it further ahead I would think that would skew the shot results on the ProTee. Thanks for clarifying for me.
Sorry for the delay...I don't tend to use the very large Birtee cups. I find them too tall for my liking. However, the size of birtee I do use doesn't really change the position of the ball relative to the original tee location. I find them perfect.
placing the ball in front of the rubber tee holder would have an impact on protee's measurements. ball speed would measure a little higher, face would measure more open, and path would measure more in to out. however, others have said they hit in front of the tee holder with good results so the difference is probably minimal.
I do the plastic cap under the rubber tee holder. I try to have the rubber tee sit just below the level of the fiberbuilt. if it's much lower, it's like you're always hitting out of a divot. the problem then becomes tearing up the rubber tee holder because of fat shots. unfortunately I've gone through 5 or 6 tee holders just in the past year. what I do to try to make them last longer is wrap the tee holder with electrical or packing tape. the 2 inch rubber tee holders I buy online are just a bit loose to begin with so a little tape makes them fit snug.
I don't have a problem with tearing up the tee holder when using a tee. I've been using the 4 more yards plastic tees because they seem to last the longest.
