  • Is ProTee a good enough system to charge money?

I am in the process of building a 5 sim retail center and was wondering (from all the ProTee users out there) If it is a good enough system that people would be fine being charged an hourly rate to have access to?
I currently have a Skytrak setup and love it - but I don't think the customers will like the 5 second delay.........
Each bay will be 13ft wide by 17 long with 12 X 10 screens.
    Thanks in advance!
If you have any other suggestions that might work in this situation let me know.

I think it is. The beauty is no change of setup for right/lefty. The "downside" is it doesnt "measure" spin. It is extremely accurate in the way it calculates it though. I have no issue with the representaion of any of my shoes, including spin. The only other problem I have had is an occasional misread (which I think you have with pretty much and simulator/launch monitor though it sounds like a few are better than others, most notably the GC2). It takes a bit of effort to set up but not really that bad. I had a lot of lessons learned that I would be glad to help you with.
A good source if he's still on here is a Richard Askren. He did have a business using ProTee simulators.

13 ft isn't wide enough for both left/right handed play. My set up is a little over 13ft and I'm hitting about 18" off centre and I'm 5'11"

I looks like you are using Skytrak.....so it can't be centered -- protee I can center so you will have 6.5 feet to each side.

@Golfstronga Agree, I have 10 feet and offset of 3 1/2. I'm only 5' 9" but I'm nowhere close to hitting the side.

I do have a skytrak and the ball location is still offset from the centre of the room as 13ft isn't enough to hit from the centre

I will say it defiantly is. I for one am more interested in swing path and face of the club more than anything. Launch angle is a bonus. I would advise that you purchase the putting add on and TGC is an absolute. If you can go for 4k graphics and you will beat out any other business in your area.

        6.5 is too tight IMO.

6.5 is the very minimum to swing a driver without hitting the wall behind me (actually hit the wall a few times). 7+ (14+ feet wide) seems more reasonable

There won't be a wall these will be built with trusses.
I will try to link a picture of what we are doing.

looks like it will be a nice place. I had a indoor golf sim place open by where I live - it closed down after a few years. It was kinda junkie - not worth the hourly price in my opinion. What are you thinking of charging?

Funnily enough I ve had numerous friends come over and not mentioned the delay on the skytrak, I think you need to get the ProTee system more on the basis of it being safer and left hand friendly. I'm at the process of putting a sim in my local pub, I'm getting the rent free , I'm not sure how much I can charge, and here's the crunch, the money I want to charge to make it worth my while I don't think people will pay, it's going to be the same price to play a decent real course, not sure if I would pay that. But I'm going to do it as an experiment, not going to cost me anything as I've got a portable sim.i think you need several bays, but the cost to revenues ratio is way out of whack. I think cooperate gigs is the way to go,
