You've been drinking the PG Koolaid too long, dude. PG is absolutely "fixing" the ST just like TGC. Read up on the PG history. Without the Sims fixing the problem ST users couldn't putt and no-one (well except maybe you) wants that. So the issue is only what algorithm is the best compromise. We'll never get 100% agreement. Every algorithm has it's trade-offs, none are perfect.

And news bulletin, even the GC2 gets "help" in TGC. And it gets "help" in PG/OGGT too. Don't be so naive. Blimey.

Is the "help" that pg gives the same as "the patch"?

In the other thread our tests looked pretty good for gc2 putting, but do you ever get the odd 5 or 6 degree miss? it didn't happen in almost 100 putts from our tests so I figure it's my white putter causing misreads but my brother gets the same thing and his putter isn't white. Any ideas?

I did have the patch activated for this tournament and have practiced with it on for next week's Houston course. I don't think it has made much difference in my score. Granted I am a mid high handicap so my putting still has pace issues so maybe the advantage might be there for people who are ironically good putters. Last tourney only recall one 8 foot putt that I sank that didn't have any break. As for my practice round didn't have any 1 putts but came close to a few.

Big thing for me is I find myself not yelling at a screen in a room by myself when I see the putt go way offline.

Basically we all want our Sims to reflect our real life game to keep making improvements. With skytrak's random horizontal error it makes it really difficult to improve on anything. At least now I can concentrate on pace better.

I will also find it interesting on how future tourneys play and see if this gives an unfair advantage to skytrak users.
    My courses:
    Aldeen
    Butler National
    Cantigny
    Canyata
    Cog Hill #4
    Harbor Shores
    Harborside
    Naperville Country Club
    Prairie Landing
    Rich Harvest Farms
    Ruffled Feathers
    Shoreacres

So is it only an unfair advantage for ST users now that it eliminates the chance that it throws out a reading that's off 3 degrees, but it's not an advantage that a GC2 offline reading of 1.5 or lower goes to 0?

      It is available for all.

Had foot surgery last week and wasn't supposed to play this week (stupid doctors), but golf withdrawals kicked in and I decided to see how bad my swing was with a surgical boot on and a bunch of stitches in my foot. So, decided that I would give "the patch" a try since I don't have much of a chance of contending this week anyway. My thoughts:

The good...I didn't get insanely frustrated with +3/-3 degrees on 7-12 footers. I have a putting cup inline with my Skytrak at 8', so I know if I hit the putt straight or not. Nothing more annoying than having the ball fall in the hole dead center on the putting carpet, fist bump myself, then the Skytrak delay, then oh crap, missed the hole by 10 inches. Always for birdie of course lol.

The bad...I really didn't concentrate on putting at all this round. It made it not very fun. I know when I pull/push putts or the most part...it happens more often then I would like. The tournament sim rounds have really helped my concentration while putting and I am very hopeful that translates to the real course. I noticed myself not caring at all about direction this round because of the patch.

My verdict...I'm turning the patch back off for now. Will it cause some frustration, yeah. But I would rather ensure I am working towards a better game than win fake money. Might just be me, but if I know the ball will go straight, I won't give it my full attention/effort. I won't hold it against anyone who uses it by any means though...I definitely get the frustration it can cause.

Just my $.02 worth...sorry for the long rant...I am still jacked up on pain pills.

The Par 3 (third hole I believe) burned me twice this week. Safe tee shot to the left. Down hill putt and if you putt it past the hole it catches a slope and runs 10+ feet past the hole. Problem was, I was too dumb to remember it. Oh well fun week. Congrats on the many low scores.

Exactly the reason for my enhancement request on another thread I created for a notes feature. Probably won't happen anytime soon if at all but would be a good feature.

That's a good idea Bnorman. Would take some discipline on my part to use it though. Would certainly be handy come this time next year. I like it.

Anybody know why it's not accounting for my handicap? I went through Q school and my handicap was established at 20. Just trying to figure this out for the next tour. Thanks!

That is weird. I see both scores but not both scorecards. Try going back into the tournament, it may be stuck on the last shot. PM Protee if that doesn't work, they can fix it.

My first round was messed up. I finished but TGC froze. I restarted 3 times, i was then able to finish the last hole but it made me putt a 3 footer then advanced to second round and dont recall any issues finishing that one. I wasnt on the leaderboard at all.
