Is there anyone who considers them self an expert with Discord? I have used it a total of two times with the second being unsuccessful. My first attempt was during the Ryder Cup fourball match where it worked flawlessly with all four players. Then the second attempt was the singles match with Daddio and we couldn't hear each other. The app would make a connection and I could see his avatar as well as text him, but neither of us could hear the other. He had mentioned seeing a TGC icon in the top left corner of his screen and I couldn't see that icon. My current set-up is through my iPhone 7+ and either using AirPods or a set of earbuds to communicate. Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

Works best with pc app and microphone. The mic on a web cam like the c920 is very common and works great or any usb mic should work well.

Dang, I was afraid of that. I am darn near deaf and wear hearing aids. I am not sure if I would be able to hear people through the PC speakers. Oh well

Just re-read your post. I could have sworn I have played with someone using airpods and we had no issues.Might have just been bad luck.

EDIT: you can also test it to see. Use PC app and you should stil be able to hear them even though you don't have a mic. If you can hear them, you might like it better than air pods then you can invest in a cheap mic. Even a $5-$10 mic on amazon should be fine.

I have used the app on my iPhone before and it works fine for me, in fact that's what I used during our awesome Ryder Cup fourball :-) . On a private Discord chat there is the option to have it use your microphone constantly or it has a setting for "push to talk". This means you have to push and hold down the button in the chat to talk (similar to a walkie talkie). Make sure this isn't selected and you were not aware, its not always obvious!

I thought it worked really well with my AirPods too, other than the battery not lasting for the entire match and I had to use corded earbuds for a while. Any insight into the TGC icon in the top left corner of the Discord app?
