Just wondering if you adjust the HDCP system when playing from these short tee's. If not Mike will be a -8 by the time one of us has to play him for the match play title. And it will pretty much hose the rest of us when we get to Augusta.

Yes, the course rating and slope for the womens tees will be used in the calculations, along with the medium wind factor.

I always use the correct rating/slope for the tees that we use.

When a guy fires 7 birdies in 24mph wind, I don't think any handicap will save you from him on this course.

I figured as much. Just not sure how you did it. Things been working out so far but we have never played from short tee's so thought I would ask.


And Rick I feel your pain my friend. I witnessed that round and I don't want to say he got lucky because he made some great shots. But when the putts fall the scores are low. and that round he could not miss. His drives were nothing spectacular just kept it in play. and his approach shots were not anything I have not seen from him on many occasions. But the putts well they usually don't all fall like that. We all have our days.

One thing about playing the shorter courses. Normally I play from the back tees with my buddies. Very seldom do you hear "birdie chance" from the game. Playing online with the courses cut sh

I do agree with you on a hot putter. Especially in online play where you can align yourself to a putting sensor and then aim on the computer. But your comments on birdies are way off. Below are stats for the leader in birdies this season on the PGA tour. If you actually AVERAGE 5 birdies a round from any tees at any local course, props to you. No way anyone averages 6-7 anywhere, including online.

Not because I am a long baller (over 270)but because I practice from the rough (which is where I normally end up). Some times its a 2 club rough and others its one. And I am sure that the way Mike hits his approach shots he knows exactly if its 1 or 2. When I play our local course and play from the gold tees I hit 4-5 birdies per 18 and I think the yardage is 6400. When I play from the white tee's I hit 1-2 birdies per round and the yardage is 6900. So 6-7 birdies should be the norm for more than just Mike. Its like our local Pro told me. This is a hard game and we have to face the fact that we are not that good at it.

Hard game indeed. But color me jealous. Over 270 and 4-5 birdies per round? Wow. Any tip for a lowly 11 hdcp, 250 avg hacker like myself?

Your comparing apples to crab legs here. The pro's put it in the cup for birdie. We get 60" birdies. The pro's are playing 7100 yard courses we are playing 6500. They deal with crowds and the pressure of feeding their families. We only have to worry about if we are going to miss supper if we play another 9. Well maybe that feeding their families should have been deciding if their wife drives a BMW or a Porsche. But its all relative my friend. And its nothing that's out of the realm of possible.

I guess if you play with the same group all the time maybe things could look funny but I play with lots of groups in tournaments, leagues. It's nothing I don't see all the time.

So many factors go into play on the sim. That's why some get it and some don't. Some are good at it and some are great at it. So before we go saying "that's impossible" we should way in all the facts and factors. That is all I am saying here.

z I think you took what I wrote the wrong way or maybe I need some writing lessons. When I said "not because I am a long baller" I meant that I normally don't hit it 270. I get there once in a while but mainly when I get pissed. When you see it go 280 well that just means I am a little more pissed than the 270. LOL But it really don't matter because 150 out from the trees is the same as 180 out from the trees. Right?

You are right about one thing: this is suppose to be fun and really that's what matters most. I could argue with you in circles about birdies and many other things but there's no point in that.

I think i'll go warm up my SIM since I'm looking outside the window and the snow is pouring down in the middle of march.
