Just from looking at your round the other day, all shots into the water end up as a re hit from where you were and no drop by the water.
Also seems like a lot of slope in the greens. Too many seem to put too much into the greens and not as close to the norm that I tend to play.
Anyone know why some courses you play will drop at the edge and others are back to the tee?Mountain Time

I think it is any water that is generated by the designer is a total rehit and if its computer generated it gives you a fair drop... or at least that is what I found from playing my own courses. Not sure if this holds true worldwide but on the few courses I have created that is how it works. But then again when your as good as I am you rarely see the water.....PHHFFFFF...
The course is fantastic.... I really like it...Last edited by Hoosierdaddy; 01-16-2015, 07:40 PM.Protee

I liked it... I played a halfway respectable round on it. I agree with SFR about the re-hit vs the drop. Is there a setting that has to be enabled in the build of the course, or is it that a drop area needs to be built into each water hole? Very strange. I've seen this discrepancy in in a few other courses as well.

The drops are an issue and HB has already said they are working on improving them. not much a course designer can do about them.Originally posted by SFR View Post

Despite losing a few drives in the water, I really like this course. Definitely one of the best that we've played so far.

That makes sense Zmax... Seems like something that would be difficult to code in to cover all situations involving water. A lot of variables to consider.

That is weird as the course that I am trying to do (my home course BH Golf Course 44) I tested water on one hole (16) where water runs all down the right side of the fairway and it dropped it beside where it went in. I think I used Boreal (whatever the spelling) . Could it be some themes do this and others don't. I will have to test other holes with water as well on mine. The course is not done but the only way to play it with more than one person is to publish it and try. Think I have 2 with the same name so I think the latest is the one with a bridge in the photo.
Also 16 and 17 I set up along the edge of the mapping area so that the left has OB and if you hit past the edge of the map line it will re tee you.
What they could use for the course design is a way to mark out a red stake line or hazard line and an OB white stake line. This would cover that issue and should be a fairly easy tool to draw line points with for the stakes.

it could also be done with the brush you used to create the water. that way the edge would be equal along the hazard. Just lower the ground to the depth using a specific brush, then change to a hazard brush select the same brush, size it correctly and drop it into the course. Sounds simple enough... Then all them areas that give the course some character but are impossible to hit out of could be marked as hazard and instead of having to take a 10 you just take the drop and move along.Protee
