  • Societies, Tournaments, handicaps and fees ???

Just getting into this and got a few questions - I went to Golfsimulatortours.com and see the societies listed there, some say free and other have fees.

#1 - what is the fees? is that just the money in the game that's apparently awarded by just playing?
#2 - I think Ive read handicaps only get calculated on ProTee and WizardofCoz/Noonan societies - and if that's true then the other societies don't affect the handicap? and if that's the case - what handicaps do those societies use?

#3 - In the game there are other societies listed as well that are not listed on the tour site at all - What handicaps do they use or is it just scratch?

Just trying to understand how this works, not that it really matters unless real money gets involved (which I would have no interest in, haha).

    Thanks

#1. The "fees" are just fake money. Some societies have a "fee" to enter that is deducted from your imaginary money that you've "won" through playing the game. I'm not exactly sure what the point is. I think it's just a leftover feature from the console version of the game where you buy equipment and clothes and stuff for your character. I've actually wondered about this myself so hoping someone can shed some light on it. But no, there's no actual money involved.

#2. You'll have two handicaps. One is a tour handicap that is used using any of the ProTee tours (united, exhibition, winter league? Q-school?) and I'm guessing Noonan as well. You then also have another handicap and I'm not totally sure how that one is calculated. I don't really pay much attention to my handicaps to be honest.

#3. I don't play any other societies other than the ones discussed above so I'm not totally sure.

Thanks for the info guys, glad to hear no real money involved, haha - I bought the Skytrak to hopefully get better but the societies look like could be really fun and an opportunity to discover some great courses.
