  • TPC Tigers Payne Killing My Handicap :)

Hey everyone, fairly new here. Thought it was funny to share, I'm trying to establish my handicap and really wish I didn't play in the recent TPC Tigers Payne tournament, haha!

I have 9 rounds, and one of them was even par in that tournament. As you can see, I'm not a scratch golfer: Click image for larger version

Looking at the standings, I see everyone's scores were way out better than typical that week. That round is going to haunt me for some time. It was a fun course but may want to take it out next season as it's going to really skew everyone.

You haven't played enough rounds to have an established handicap yet. It says you're a 0.0 but that means you haven't played enough rounds. You need to play 5 rounds of either QSchool, ProTee or Noonan Society events to get a handicap. Looks like you have 4 now so one more and then check the website on the following Tuesday and it should be there.

I have 6 rounds played right now and it finally started to count. I shot par on that round so my handicap is a 0. It looks cool, don't get me wrong!

I think what he means is the 1 outlier will skew his handicap once he gets one.
well the more rounds you play it will all even out in the end.

Exactly, by a lot. See my reply below

Yeah, just saying this was an outlier course for the group to be aware of. If one of the points of Q school is to establish a handicap, not sure if this is a good course to include. Check out the scores, they are awesome!

Looking at the scores to weeks prior:
    • Pebble Beach - Leader -5, 11 people E or better
    • Sawgrass - Leader -11, 12 people E or better
    • Tawra - Leader -12 (next closest -3), 5 people E or better
    For Tiger's Payne:
    • The leader was -30 under.
    • 76 people shot E or better
    • 30 people shot -15 under or better

I wouldn't think it should impact your handicap in a negative way. Since it is an easy course, the slope rating should be very low (assuming it is a handicapped course).

What is your tour name? I'm guessing your handicap is a 0 because they haven't established one for you yet. If you have played enough rounds, you probably want mthunt to check it for you.

Actually, it looks like you have a handicap now. I just don't think it was computed when you looked. It looks like you are a 13.1 now.

Handicaps only update once per week and start on that day of the week after you completed 5 rounds. The in game handicap is based on in game play and has nothing to do with the tour handicap. It can be reset or changed in the game.
    Working...
