Match play tournament ideas.

Thinking of adding a match play tournament to our tour schedule. 9 or 18 holes hdcp double elimination/consolation? Since we're using hdcp, the game will have to be played as stroke play but using hdcp for scoring. Thoughts?

Great concept......maybe go w/2 weeks to allow for schedules and perhaps build in some practice/breathing time?

May I suggest we continue with weekly 2 round tourneys and have month long match play events in conjunction. We can have say 2 match play events over the course of the Tour. Give guys plenty of time to finish.

That's an interesting idea bubba22. Once people finish their tournament rounds, they can get their match play match out of the way.

Yep. Kinda like a running match play event. Or we could do it over 2 months. Give guys a week to get match in. Elimination over 2 month period til champ crowned.

Ok. I will set it up. Make it a month long but no real deadline. We'll see how long it takes. It will be seeded by the current points standings. We'll start it after the Protee Australian Masters. We'll use 4 different courses, one for each stage.

we could still do match play with handicaps (we do that at my club) - only trick is to be able to allocate the strokes to the hardest holes, which requires the holes to be ranked / indexed - we could just assign them based on length or something. I'm more or less indifferent, but if we wanted to do true match play it is possible

When I create the scorecards on mleaderboard, all the holes are ranked or indexed.
