From the main menu select PLAY-> PLAY TOURNAMENT -> ALL TOURNAMENTS -> SET FILTER TO PUBLIC COMPETITIONS

You can play by yourself, offline with friends or ghost players or online.

It's a shame that the over planting and size of trees, have ruined a great deal of work which was no doubt put into the layout and contouring.

Does "over planting" mean too many trees or other plants?

I'm not sure it is the reason for the discrepancy but I know the designers have issues where you can't scale down the size of the trees. So if they want to use a specific type of tree they might not be able to make it small enough to work. Debating whether to ask BoomBoom or not if the trees were an attempt to make the course tougher. He tends to get worked up when people criticize his design (justifiably considering the amount of time and effort he puts in). He just completed and published Bethpage Black and is working on a ProTee version. We definitely don't want to upset him enough that he doesn't release that one.

By over planting, I did mean too many trees, but may really just be a scale issue. As I said, and it is the same with Glen Abbey, great layouts and contouring, but not fun to play because of the trees.


KS, I'm not sure where you'd get with Boom Boom, as I have made mild post on HB, private messaged him and even offered to have him to my place to play on the sim,but zero response. Sadly for me really just means I won't be playing Riviera, Glen Abbey and most likely Bethpage.

I'm not the only one that criticized Riviera. A lot of people did. Riviera is a great course. Trees don't crowd out the holes but they do in his sim. He said the trees are in the right places but they aren't the right trees. Look at the photo I posted of 1 and the screen pic of 1. There are no trees at all on the left IRL. I for one am hoping Bethpage is better.

Agreed. Judging from those two photos, I can not see enough similarities.
