well I got the gimme setting corrected and much better now but cost me several in round 1.

have to ask, what are the rules for drop zones? I ended up getting the max on number 17 which I think is a 10 because I couldn't hit the green to save my life. it wasn't pretty.

isn't there a drop zone across the water on the real course?

all things considered it was enjoyable and that's all that matters!

This isn't real life but the drop zone is still over the water in real life and about 100 yards.

Played my second round today and shot a 75. Much better. I recorded it with only one outburst of profanity. I will post the round later. I tried playing smarter.... I even used a 7 iron off the tee once or twice.

A drop area is a local rule in golf. In my experience, not many sims offer those drops. Generally, you get point of entry. In TGC, often drops are a rehit. I don't know why but that's how TGC is.

Haha nice, I actually recorded my first round just now as well, shot a nice 2 under with a decent amount of scrambling, par savers and plenty of luck haha. Not sure if its worth posting or not, didn't get any sound and I don't get why it keeps on getting laggy just after I hit a shot, no lag on practice swings but as soon as I actually hit the ball it spikes lag. I'm guessing it might have something to do with the actual golf game running at the same time and that being pretty graphics intensive. TGC doesn't lag for me at all when I'm watching it when I'm actually playing, but when I go back and watch the recording, TGC actually looks like I'm getting like 10 FPS when it looks smooth to me in real life. I have a 970 graphic card and a i5 cpu. I believe I remember you saying you have a 980. But are you getting any lag, if you ever did, how did you fix it? I'm probably just going to have to ramp down all the settings and work from there.

Would love to hear from ks-man on this too, I know his videos are nice a smooth. You ever have any issues with lag as well? And I have a 35 down and 25 upload fios internet, so wouldn't think internet would be the issue.

Ps: After thinking about it a bit, it must be because of TGC running at the same time. When I took a practice recording and hit a few shots before I loaded up TGC, I didn't get any lag. But once I fired up TGC, didn't realize it was that laggy until I went back and watched afterwards. So well see on the next recording when I ramp down everything to 720p.

With a GTX 970, you should be using the shadowplay software that is in Geforce Experience. With Shadow play you will be able to set video quality. Your computer is plenty fast to handle the game and shadowplay. I think that KSman uses shadowplay as well.

I use Shadowplay for TGC and OBS for PG. I haven't noticed lag simply in my recording. I use a 970 but I think my CPU is an i7.

Ah completely forgot about shadowplay! Used to hearing YouTube guys talk about obs so much that I just went with that on instinct. Definitely gonna try shawdowplay tomorrow. Seems like it's the way to go. Thanks fellas

I just got my webcam today. logitech c930e . What settings are you using. Do you just use manual and hit alt-f9 to start and stop.? Or do you use the shadowplay and manual combo?

Finished my third and final round at Sawgrass. Put up a solid yet not stellar +8 which I think included two birdies and had strong opportunities for one or two more. My driving of the ball was much better but still had a few of those banana slices creeping in. Playing this round and watching the Players really illustrate how great a job friendBOMBER did on the course. Very impressive three rounds by wbond who I believe put up a gross score of -14.

This was also my first time playing the new 3.0 version of TGC. There are a bunch of changes in it that I didn't try but did give a longer delay to the follow-cam (which I started at hole 4) and also experimented with the offset feature which I actually turned off after 3 rounds. I'll play around with a few of the other settings and see what I like.

Thanks. I played really well all three rounds and got lucky on a pitch and some longer putts. I'm starting to get better at the putts over 30' those used to kill me. This was before the update so we'll see how it goes this coming week.

Shot an HIO on the 17th island green in my 2nd round. I was over joyed, so I had to drive one in the water on the 18th. Surprised by seemingly a faster green speed with v3.0 (GSX user here), toughed it through but hoping to learn the necessary adjustments.

Tell me you have a video or saved the replay of it? My number one goal is to get an ace at #12 at Augusta (and I did come close). If that doesn't happen I want an ace at #17 at Sawgrass.

Don't have video but did save a replay. HIO is a wonderful but very costly event here in Taiwan. As the words get around, the lucky fella has to treat all his golfing partners (those playing the game and know you as a golfer) to a golf game, dinner and HIO gift balls, etc. That is how HIO insurance policy came about. So, now I got a quasi taste of how it felt. Ha Ha!
