Why not 3ft gimmes instead of 6?

Is it related to something in the software that won't allow it lower than 6? Seems strange because at least for me, 6 ft is certainly no gimmie IRL
cant wait till spring and I'm picking up anything inside 6 on the course and just walking back to the cart as my group finishes up.

Some systems have a hard time measuring sloe putts accurately.

The harder the ball is hit, the less it wiggles offline on peoples mats too.

Putting is hard enough on simulators with 6 foot gimmies, please leave it alone!!!

We decided in the beginning to go with 6 feet because of A. It being a simulator, B. Some hardware struggling with 3 footers (imagine a down hill 3 footer) and C. The software allowed it that way. It's not likely to change.

Gotcha... When I play with no gimmies it almost never reads anything inside 1 ft and when it does the ball flies right past the hole...

I think a GC2 is the only thing you can putt out with

My GSA system....... the shortest I can putt if 3-4 feet so tap ins would be tough. I think we should keep it at 6 feet. Plus, it speeds up the game a bit.

With my skytrak it's hit or miss from inside 3 ft.

I had 4-ft gimmes on an indoor benefit tournament we did last month and the first two weeks of this month as it is what we play on the other software, but I will be going to our 6-ft gimmes next spring when we do our second tournament. Speed of play is pretty big. I know that's different for some of us because we are playing by ourselves, but still its nice to be able to get in a tournament round in an hour before work :-).
