I thought the ball at the 21 second mark looked like it would snap more.

what is the requirement distance needed for ball/hitting zone to screen? In the video, it Seems like he is hitting pretty far away from the screen.

Distance from the screen in this is setup is roughly 10' (3m). The cameras capture the ball and club in max 3'.
So basically any distance from the screen or net will work as long as you can swing freely.
