I have 12 foot ceilings so I plan to build a custom drop for the VX. The spec range appears to be 9-10.5 feet?? I am assuming that would be measure from the floor to the VX sensors? I would like to keep it as high as possible for aesthetics and lee potential for a collision. Any experience would be greatly appreciated.

I looked at mounts but most had a friction length adjustment and I read where one person found their LM on the floor! So, I am making it with flanges and black pipe at a fixed length. Pro tee said I could go to 10.5 feet but I don't know if that's to the base or to the lenses. Have you entertained insurance or a protective cover?

VX (or other overhead LM) is typically 3' - 3.5' in front of the golfer (so probably 5-7' back from the screen. The projector is typically directly overhead or even slightly behind the golfer (10' - 14' back from the screen). If they are at the same height above ground (or from the ceiling assuming the ceiling is flat), the angle that the projector light takes will typically miss the overhead LM...
The further back the projector gets from the screen, the more likely the golfer is casting shadows when addressing the ball or swinging...

Thanks all. I'm building one in a new house with 12 foot ceiling height (16' 5" wide). Sounds like in the ceiling I need power and ethernet about 6 feet from the wall and power and HDMI about 12 feet from the wall? Does that make sense for 16' wide? Does the ethernet for the LM need to run to the PC or to my router? Appreciate any suggestions.

Ethernet from the PC to the LM - the LM connects directly to the PC via ethernet.
I'd also run ethernet to the projector - may be useful later, could be used for control, or projector network connection.
For your projector, determining distance is a science. Depending on the projector model that you choose, there's a Throw Distance. The screen size and the projector throw are used to calculate exactly how far away the projector needs to be for the image size to fill the screen.

Sorry guys but another question regarding mounting.
When they say max is 10 feet, is that from turf to camera or turf to mounting plate?
Also is the distance ahead of the ball of 100 to 110 feet depend on the height? Is it that at 10 feet it should be 110 and at 9 feet it should be 100? Or, are these independent of each other?

Centre of the VX. The difference between front and centre is about 3".

So at 10 feet is it BETTER to have it at 110cm or is it OK anywhere between 100-110?

110 cm is a triangulated result of the camera's pointing down in an angle and the height of the unit. Based on this calculation there is no "between". However the hitting area is 65 x 55 cm so in theory there is always room for 10cm difference.
