A bit of a bizarre problem with my sensor mat. When I first turn the interface on it doesn't detect the sensor mat, but when I unplug an reinsert the USB it immediately picks it up, so I am able to play. Not that big a deal but a bit of an nuisance that have to do this. Any thoughts or suggestions on how to rectify?

Do you have a 9 pin serial port on the back of the computer? Or a serial header on the motherboard? If so, you can just use that instead of the USB to serial adapter. It's not a fix for your USB problem but it will avoid it. -
Just experienced a failure on my sensor mat......everything stopped even though the green light remained on. I am using a serial header so I powered down, disconnected/connected, and rebooted. The device manger says com1 is fine and I tried the AC adaptor in a different outlet but still no sensor readings. The cables are protected and I did no see any obvious issue. I have a original usb/serial adaptor but the win8 sys does no seem to like it. I thought perhaps I double check whether my serial header may have corrupted. Not sure what to try next but the fact that the system stopped during some swings make me wonder if I may have a more serious board fault. Any thoughts would be appreciated!Comment

COMM detected OK? Does it say sensor mat not found? Was this on TGC or ProTee?Comment

The msg read no dcv or mat not connected.....I was in PT on the range

I checked and the green light was on so I assume the DCV was fine

I had this happened a few days ago. Turn pc off. Waited about 30 minutes. Turn it back on. All was fine again.Comment

That's odd that you can't use that with Win8. I have Win8 on all of my machines and it works fine. With the USB adapter all of my sensor mats are on Comm3 or Comm7. You have to check in the device manager to see which one it ends up on.Originally posted by cvclub View PostComment

I finally got the usb device to work, I had used the most current driver and it does not like that one...I remember now (it's been 2+ years) that the USB and cams prefer older drivers. Unfortunately though it did not resolve the issue so I opened the matt and to my surprise the rs232 wires had broke free of the solder joints! Once I resoldered I was able to use my serial header (Com1) business as usual! I think that over time (and some hard blows) the matt must have either moved slightly and the wires broke free. I built a little tension relief into my repair I should be good for another 10,000 miles!Comment
