I'm curious about how the Protee system measures ball speed, how accurate it is and how it compares to launch monitors.

Hey,
I'm still wondering about the ball speed and resultant distances with the Protee, I recently purchased an Ernest Sports ES12 to check the ball speed on the Protee and as I suspected the readings I am getting are anywhere form 4 to 8% greater then they should be. If I want to tweak my ball speeds on the Protee system would I be best to go into the settings and do it there?

The best way to adjust your yardages is by changing the DRAG factor for a specific club inside the BALL settings in the interface. This will adjust the game physics and not the actual ball speed measured by the sensors.
Lowering the DRAG will increase the yardage. Its a relative percentage. For example a value of 0.95 will add approx 5% distance.

I play with the Skytrak along with the ProTee. I find the ball speed very close. Launch angle is very close as well. In fact I think the ProTee horizontal ball measurement is more accurate than Skytrak. The ball speed measurement by ProTee was adjusted with a GC2 so it is close. But yes you can adjust it slightly to tweak it even closer if you find it slightly high. I play real balls now so don't adjust. I did adjust when I played Almost balls.
