  • Problems with serial adaptor... :(

I am very confused - This morning I had everything plugged in and running- I adjusted the v and h cam and played a little bit on pro tee courses and TGC..
So this afternoon-since I had everything set up- I wanted to play an actual round- but everytime I launched the pro tee interface- I could not find it on the task bar- nor would it just stay open on the screen-I found it in the processes and had to stop the program there. I tried a few times to get it to work- after It would not start correctly- I uninstalled, defragged and re installed- using admin-
Everything started up normally- I could see the v and h cam- it went to the task bar- but now I was not getting and sensor data- I checked - comm port 3 -that's were the serial converter is- still no data-
power was on in sensor mat- but I get this message:
comm port not read or sensor not connected!
    Err: #002 - dll: 0 fn_open_comm port
    descr : invalid port number
    source: MSComm
please check serial cable between computer and sensor mat

When I look in my device manager the usb to serial adaptor has this error
this device cannot start (code 10)
a device that does not exist was specified

I have a feeling and hope this might be a simple issue- Not sure why everything worked this morning and then not in the afternoon.. I know about .ocx files- I see that an mscomm.ocx is in the windows folder- not sure if this is the MSComm its talking about though...
ill also send an email to pro tee support. thanks if anyone can answer this..
everything is plugged in no loose wires- all drivers in stalled-- light is on on the sensor- I installed the serial-usb drivers first before plugging in the hardware- running windows 8.1
I also uninstalled and reinstalled the usb to serial drivers

Best guess would be that its related to the Serial to USB device driver.
Check this document from step 5 onward : http://csc.protee-united.com/entries...-during-a-game

Make sure the device driver is version 3.3.11.152.

If that does not help, it could be a Microsoft serial mouse plug and play error. There is a utility on the disk to solve this. See step 3 in the above document.

We noticed you also logged a ticket with our support desk. We will copy the same info into the ticket. If this does not solve your problem, please reply to the helpdesk ticket.
