So I am looking to change Sims and am going to purchase protee as it is accurate and enables us to have both right and left golfers with little trouble. Now I have a question do the cameras have to be put in specific spot so it can read ball and launch angle for both right and lefties? Also do you have to select club still or does it adjust based on launch angle?

    Thanks for any advice.

Vcam is on the ground either left or right side. Hcam mounted above. One can select club to estimat spin based on club loft or you can us vcam for spin which estimates spin based on launch parameters. Ith vcm fo pin one doesn't hav to select the club.

Bubba, I purchased the Pro-Tee setup from Chip at Innovative Golf Systems and am having trouble determining the location and mounting of the camera. It is a single camera system and the majority of the players will be right handed. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

If mostly righties then mount vcam opposite on the left. Make ure you have a dark background opposite the vcam. Follow this to help http://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum/...vision-cameras

Hi, I havent got my v cam set up correctly yet. I am going to have to redo my area to put on the left side of the room. When I had it set up incorrectly with the camera too close it seemed to work OK with the vcam setting selected but then I had some major issues when it picked up the club instead which was to be expected. It defintely behaved different when I changed selected clubs though. When I get this correctly set up, am I to understand it wont matter on the club selection, it will go off the launch angle on the camera? I'm not saying I will make it a practice to hit driver with 9 iron selected but but curious if somebody has done that by accident and the result.

It will work without club selection, but its not recommended. Lots of interface settings depend on the club selected, including the camera angle detection processes. For example chipping and pitching modes only work with wedges. If you tweak your iron7 distance, the tweak will not be applied if the auto caddy has selected a 9 iron in the game for you. Just keep this in mind.

Once setup well, you will not really need to select a club if you use the vcam for spin option. That basically will determine spin (not axis but backspin) based on speed/launch angle/horizontal angle etc. I still personally select the appropriate club more so to allow for better detection of the launch angle than spin determination.

I am trying to get a good background for the vcam. I got a black bed sheet and it shows up as bright. I have the recommended light and don't see a glare. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

did you get the lights from protee that come with the system or the track system that chip sells?

Got my own lights like Richard Askrens setup and 75 watt 24 degree spot lights like protee recommends.

I just put up some black poster board and it was fine. I guess sheets have something in them to reflect even low light.

I have one spot thats not black at about 40 degrees. It is picking up everything but a flop sand wedge where it is picking up the club. I can see a ball streak before it hits the light background and it is actually above my club. I think it will be correct once i fix that part of the backgound since from reading here it picks up the longest streak? In the case of it going into the light background the club becomes the longest streak. This would explain why I couldnt get out of the bunker on the first hole at Pebble. It kept getting launches low and on a flop the clubhead stays low.
