I am sorry if I seem persistent, but could you humor me a bit?? In a previous thread I suggested that your camera closest to the impact screen was aiming too far away from it and suggested that you adjust the lighting. I still think this is true. Please look at the HCAM thread you started. Your picture shows that the light is not centered on the target line. More importantl, the light stops just over halfway across the screen. it is possible that the light could use some tweaking. Try adjusting it to cover the area closer to the impact screen. Maybe it got bumped???? What do you have to lose?? If I am correct, problem solved. If not, just 5 minutes of your time wasted.

The change to move the camera to cover more of the screen is to lengthen the pick up of the BALL. Currently, the length of the pickup coincides with the distance the club travels so the camera is having trouble discerning the club vs ball and you get erroneous readings. Just my thoughts and trying to help..

Hey no problem being persistent, I'm happy to get any help I can get. Which Hcam post are you referring to? there has been so many of them...

Oh are you talking from the image above in that the light doesn't go all the way to the screen on the right side?? that might be the problem, but I do seem to have pretty good ball streaks at the start (from the left)

yes it is. I looked at the thread on setting this up. they also advise not to have a gap in the lighting so you may have to move both a bit.

So I got this system back in 2014, everything was working fine then my computer fried back in April, so I lost everything on it, so I'm starting from scratch. Back in 2014 another member helped me with my settings to get everything working in proper order. This go around I can't seem to get the help I need so I'm stumbling through on my own, probably having spent 15 hours on this on the weekend. The cameras might be the issue, but they weren't back in April, so I'd like exhaust all software issues before I get into moving cameras around. Does that make sense?

that negative launch angle is impressive. i manage to do that with my driver every now and then.

I use pt5 for all vcam detection methods and pt1 for all hcam. I think boerdoc is right. you need a longer ball streak. lighting is definitely important. sense and gain adjustments can also help. can you post a shot where you scroll to the right at the bottom to show the image captures of the ball streak? the more ball streak you detect, the more other noise you get so you have to strike a balance.

if the putting light is at a slight angle it should be fine. I wouldn't move the other one though.

I think the lighting just needs to be fine tuned I know what you had worked but now that you are rebuilding the software set up, I think getting everything tweaked to have the least bit of issues is important to helping find the problem.

I agree, I'd like to get everything to a point where I don't have any misreads.

yes but don't leave a gap in lighting. you may have to move/angle both just a bit to achieve longer streaks with no gaps

Its important the the lights are aligned correctly. Directly on top over each sensor. Not angled. See picture:
              http://csc.protee-united.com/hc/en-u...tor-dimensions

If the sensor mat light is too far back, the light will illuminate the golfer which will cause lots of white noise in the left bottom of the camera image.

The 2 circles on the floor should just touch / cross each other. The putting sensor light should not shine on the sensor mat, other wise you will get inconsistent ball readings.

So no gap, but also not too much overlap...

Any chance of getting a remote session to help me with my settings? I emailed a request in last week. I know that it can work properly, I just need someone who knows what they're doing to set it up.

Maybe I'm just expecting too much out of the system, the full shots work well (other than the occasional jumper in ball speed). This issues is really just with the soft wedges and in particular the lob wedge. I notice on the golf channel that their sim seems to have problems with the high soft wedges as well, so maybe it's just a limitation of simulators in general. I think the real answer is just to hit every green so you don't have to chip... lol..

p.s. in my frustration I did price out a CG2 with HMT and software, with exchange and sales taxes about 23K Cdn.... :P

I'm getting the gc2. and I have the protee 2.0 with TGC. Everyone swears by it. The gc2 measures all the ball data as the protee measures with the vcam the club data then calculates the ball data. where as the gc2 does the opposite measures the ball data then calculates the club data. I really don't think for 7k more the HMT is worth it. yea it measures what the club is doing but you have to put stickers on each club for it to work and for me it's too much work and too expensive. What I like about the gc2 mostly is 2 things. ease of use and it's portable. you can disconnect it from your PC and take it to the range to measure ball data. pretty cool. yea it cost 6995.00 which was the cost of my whole protee system. But as far as what I've read here and heard it's the best especially with TGC and even the protee 2.0. Since it measures the ball, the spin numbers are really accurate for ball and club fitting. If possible try to find a used one and save money. I've heard that Golfsmith is going BK. and that they use gc2 for their club fitting. IF true, find one in your area and see how much they would part with one. I know they are so hard to find used. Even a used protee system is hard to find . But you may get lucky. Good luck.

ProTee measures club and ball data using sensors and cameras. All this data is then used to calculate spin data, which is very accurate.
The vcam does not pick up club data. Only ball.

Your right about that . the vcam measures the balls vertical launch when set up properly. the sensor mat does what the HMT does without having to put all those stickers on the clubs then calculates the spin of the ball. but the ball data is an estimate where the gc2 is accurate from impact then calculates the spin after. both are really good estimations. For the money and having a home simulator, Protee is the best value out there. That's why so many of us have one. The main reason I'm getting a gc2 is because it's portable and I'd have both of best worlds.
