  • Slices and pushes when chipping

    When chipping and short chips with the lob wedge i tend to keep the club face open for the purpose of spin. The system reads the club face as open (justifiably) but the ball comes out to the right which does not happen in real life because the club is coming from outside to in. Is there a way to tell the system the clubface is square so the ball comes out straight? I currently just use the software to aim a little left. Thank you.

    Do you have a Hcam?

      Yup, the Hcam will make sure the ball path is read correctly.

      As for the side spin, adjust these settings:

      # Limit_wedge_face:
      # Option to limit the maximum clubface for a wedge
      # Value: True or False
      # Default:True
      Limit_wedge_face=True

      # Wedge_face_limit:
      # Maximum clubface for wedges when Limit_wedge_face=True
      # Value: between 4 and 30
      # Default:10
      Wedge_face_limit=4

      Also, you can reduce your SW/LW side spin to 75.

        Thank you for the quick responses. No hcam yet. I will try the things you suggest bubba. I was looking through the settings file and was wondering if these may help,Chipping_make_ballpath_straight=False change to true and Chipping_make_clubface_straight=False also or changed to true. What do you think? Thank you.

          I don't recommend changing those to true. They'll make your flops straight but they will also make all normal chips straight. I highly recommend getting the Hcam.

            Ok. Thank you Z. I will try the things bubba suggested as they seem reasonable as wedges do not slice in real life for my buddies and myself anyways. Thank you.
