I am still working out issues with my H and V cameras. While playing 18 holes, every so often I get a sim result that is totally wrong (ball goes opposite direction of actual shot or only goes 2 inches or ...). How do you debug this? Is there some setting to make it save the results of the H and V cams for every shot? Any log files that can be consulted? I would like to alt-tab out of the game and look at what actually happened so I could try to fix it.

Yes I could do that. But what I was hoping for is some way after you hit a shot in the actual game and it goes wonky to retrospectively find captures of the v-cam and h-cam frames and other info to try to figure out what went wrong with that particular shot.
[BTW, I posted about my v-cam problem but could not attach my pgs file nor bmp files from "PT_Capture" because the forum would not allow them. Is everybody manually changing the bmp to jpeg to post them? And is there a way to attach your settings to a post rather than copy/paste them inline to the post?]
-Thanks, Derek

Examining the Vcam and Hcam pictures are how we troubleshoot the system. You can also look at the debug screen in the interface to see if you have a sensor issue.
It's best to convert images to .jpg first before uploading. You can use Windows Paint to do that.
The series of images for the PT_Capture can be compressed into one to send off to Protee for troubleshooting. You can also send them to me to look at.

I think the question is if you are playing in a round and hit a shot that is misread, can you switch immediately to the interface after the shot to see what was read / not read? or do you have to have the interface open first and streaming in order to capture the image and see the line drawn? I've tried to switch while playing the game but couldn't see the video capture of the shot that went awry while playing the game. Is there a way to do that? I've only noticed the ability to debug when you start in the interface (not when you switch from the game) but I only tried it once or twice

Yes, you can ALT TAB and bring up the interface, go into the camera analysis and look at all the captures and see the analysis window itself. But the Vcam/Hcam windows sometimes reset and there won't be anything to see. Most of the time, they'll be there. And you must be careful not reset the system with your shadow or any shadow. The system will reset when a any of the 4 reset sensors in the back of the sensor mat are block from the light.
Also, if you're going to this during online play, make sure you advise the other players to hold off until you put the interface back in tray mode.

Thanks for your quick response. I am afraid I need alot of help. We just built and turned on a pro tee sim on friday and it is not working very well. No putting sensor and 1 v cam? All full long club shots show a fade to a slice. Chipping does not work properly when the club gets ahead of the ball. There are other issues but these are the most significant at the moment. I noticed i am using pt5 for most everything can I use the editor for that? Can you help me find this 41 redchain? Cheers. Edit: I found the 41 update.

The link for interface 41 for red chain is at the first posting on this thread - that posting has all the info for updating the interface, the DirectX driver, and the red chain software. Please note that these updates are all beta testing versions.
here is the link for the red chain update (again, this is on the first post of this thread)

Until you have the basic system working, I would just put all the settings at PT1. Once you get reliable readings with that, you can see if you can improve it with PT5. I just had too many balloon shots with PT5 (vcam kept picking up my club in the follow through, especially my 5 iron for some reason)
I assume when you say "no putting sensor" that means you don't have one, rather than you have one but it doesn't connect / recognize it. As an aside, I'd recommend spending the $$ on a putting sensor. Without a putting sensor, you are going to have to keep the shadow from your head off the sensor pa

Man are you good. You got everything I tried to say. Not sure how to get the lights any better as we plumb bobbed them. They are par 30 50 watters (2). One directly over the tee area with what appears to be good light on all the sensors (tested good) in the interface. The other is straight in line and exactly perpendicular to the camera on the floor about 40 inches from the tee. We seem to get good streaks in the cam setup. The room is black carpeted and dark. The lights are on the ceiling 10 feet up. I am a drawer of the ball and have a hard time hitting a fade in general. Chipping works fine, it is just the short flop shots from say 7 yards (I dont hit long flop shots, low percentage shot). In the cam setup screen i can see the club slightly passing the ball and the software uses the club instead of the ball, so I can understand that we have to fool the software. Thank you for the explanation. Just this slicing thing really bothers me. We had to turn side spin down to .25 just to mak

Tony,
To better help us help you, post a screen capture of the shot analysis, interface's main screen, and the Vcam setup screen, when you get a strange shot.
Also, its highly recommended that you add the hcam. Its critical to have accurate ball path readings.

On the fade that you think shouldn't fade, what does the club path (degrees in-to-out or out-to-in) and club face (degree? open or closed?) show on the sensor shot after the hit? You can adjust both of those factors (so if you have a straight club path but it shows it out-to-in, you could adjust for whatever % it is off; but if the sensor pad is aligned correctly and the lights are centered, that would need to be a very subtle adjustment

Just have to be patient with it. Takes a bit to get it all set up perfectly. Lots of functionality in there but it isn't all intuitive how to get it done. Everyone here went through the same thing, so plenty of experience to help you through it.

Patience i have. My friend who owns the machine, not so much. I have been reading this forum as well as the ottawa forums for the last 2 months. You guys have been great. Will be talking much more. Hope to join your tour or play some online games in the near future. Cheers.

The fastest way to get answers and solutions is to post the stuff that I requested. Posting on the forum and saying shots are not accurate or distances are way off, etc...could be a the result of many things.
I don't like to exchange messages back and forth for two days only to find out your cameras are set incorrectly or the lighting is not optimal.
