Supposedly if you are grandfathered you should get a -$100 voucher to use when choosing PIP at $199.

When I spoke to their help desk, the guy said they were working things through since the announcement but hopefully an email would be sent before renewal. If you haven't got yours yet, I would call them first before you renew.

I will say I hope they make this right for those who had already purchased the product. It was this exact issue that made me buy a used Gc2. I was a sky caddie owner for years and those yearly dues really bugged me since I never need new courses. There is something irritating to pay for something you already have. But that's the software way of business for some. But it cost them this customer.

I have to say I am annoyed about this. I bought my Skytrak in January with the intention of getting TGC at a later date, knowing it would be $100 per year to use it. Now it's $200? This doesn't sit well with me.

My plan was expiring next week and went onto the live chat. They informed me that you have to call and it will be handled there. I called and they gave me the adjusted price. It says I'll have to connect first so we'll see tonight if it works.

My PIP subscription, which came as part of the package along with the case when I bought my Skytrak, doesn't expire until December 2017. I have not yet bought any 3rd party sim software but had planned to in the near future. I spoke with customer service over the phone regarding being grandfathered to the previous pricing plans for 3rd party simulation. As per Robert, I would have to call back in December before my plan expires to renew it at the original price of $99 to get 3rd party sim integration. Nothing was noted on my account. I'm still not sure if that is what will truly happen when the time comes. Waiting on SkyTrak_Seth for exact details for those who have not yet bought 3rd party simulation but plan to in the near future.

Good to hear! I am "keeping the faith" that SkyTrak gives people a window to make a TGC purchase under the voucher program. Although SkyTrak is advertised as an "affordable" launch monitor, the majority of people that purchase a SkyTrak are making a HUGE investment for their income. I for one would not be able to afford on if it were not for my annual bonus at work.

If you look at it, a high quality mat and net could run close to $1000. Add in a SkyTrak and (the best bang for your buck) the purchase of TGC, and you've got a $4000 investment there. For a lot of us, SkyTrak isn't a "cheaper" option, if you want something that gives you excellent data, and the sim option, it's the only option.

Allowing those that purchased their unit before this "change" went down the ability to purchase the software under the voucher program, would be a great thing in my eyes.

Lurking here for last two years, waiting for sim issues to be sorted out, and that took quite a long time. Perhaps skycaddie thinks they deserve a reward for finishing a job that should have been closer to a finished at product launch ? Or this gives them a portion the purchase price differential as compared to competitors such as GC2, ES16 ?

There are other choices. Thanks to long time forum users for making this information available.

I cannot justify paying nearly £2k for a piece of technology that comes with a 12 month warranty and then I would have to pay for it to be fixed. Based on SkyTraks shady practices I would imagine the repair costs would be astronomical. this combined with the fact that they could change or increase pricing for the packages at any time

Everything in UK only comes with a 12 month warranty? Also, don't imagine about the repair costs, people on here have had repairs (not many, 2 or 3 maybe?) and I don't think anyone has reported being stung on costs. It might take a little longer to fix that desirable though, weeks instead of days.
Problem is, if you don't drop £2K on this, it's more like £5K on GC2 and ES16.

12 months minimum, but I have recently bought a new tv (5 Years), Washing machine (5 years parts and labour), Android Tab (3 years) and Oven (5 years) so the 12 months on the ST seems to be pretty poor considering the cost.

My subscription ends today so will wait to see what Seth says. That said, I agree with others that the Skytrak may be the more "affordable" higher quality launch monitor on the market, but after I bought the unit, extended warranty, protective case, TGC, net, impact screen, projector, etc. it became a $5k investment which is not chump change to me. To top it off I have not used it to the extent others have since I have been injured as well as having to hit in a confined space in my garage which makes the experience not even close to what it could be if I had the dedicated room I could set it up in. I thought I had the unit sold a few weeks ago and the person backed out last minute so I decided to hold onto it.

Now, I am really torn on keeping it or not. If I knew what I know now I either would not have bought a sim setup at all or would have gone with the GC2 which would have allowed me to use on the range. Could have just spent the entire $5k on the GC2 and got much more use out of it. The Skytrak is completely useless on the range unless it is in a shaded area and on a mat.

My comment is more based on the fact that they do provide an annual support service in the US, but not in EMEA.

Brutal. Just bought a Skytrak 2nd hand and starting sim build. Singed up for Game Improvement in Jan to get a few hits in. Jumping to $250 (Canadian) a year for the PIP is just a gouge, no two ways about it. Anyone with a business degree knows this is not how you retain and gain customers.

I will probably sell or just drop back to driving range sessions for free, thanks. Greedy buggers. Going to see a lot on ebay in the next few weeks is my guess.
