  • Trouble selecting courses

i am new here and am 80% through with setting up my sim room. It's AWESOME so far - everything I hoped. Have TGC and Skytrak. When all done I will post some pics. One thing I am having trouble with is probably software superior to user... I have trouble selecting courses sometimes. I filter and find a course I want to try and click on it. It dings telling me I am clicking on it but doesn't do anything. I click everywhere on the highlighted course, but just ding, ding, ding. Then finally it just selects it after a while. I feel stupid, but I'm pretty good at technology, though at 49 I'm clearly not Millenials tech quality. What am I doing wrong? My computer is new gaming quality so it's not slow.

After you cllick on a course in the list it usually takes a moment to download and advance to the next screen. Sometimes it is very fast, other times it has taken several minutes. Just click on the course you want to play and be patient.

I have no idea where the underline came from, btw.

I have 50MB service and it never takes longer than 12 seconds to load a course and another 4 seconds to go to the tee. So there is an argument for faster internet service. It might be time to upgrade your service if it takes a long time.

My internet service is very fast and my equipment is brand new. Sometimes it just takes a bit longer to download a course.

Yep. And you can always click control alt delete after you click the course to bring up your task manager. Then look at the network performance activity tab in the task manager. If you see download activity then the course is downloading still.

I don't recommend that since it will knock you out of full screen mode. Just be patient.

You may want try try window mode, it's usually more stable for most users.....at least that's what was recommended to me for TGC (although most other games full screen is better).

Just click the course you want to load once. You wills see the WIFI/NETWORK symbol in the bottom right corner blinking, which indicates its loading.

Sometimes when I am waiting for the "tee off" to appear it will give me the "Could not find/load scorecard" error. It will do this multiple times with different courses and appears to be random. Any solution to this?

I was also confused at first by this. Perhaps adding download courses text would be more helpful

docsmilez I think the scorecard error is just a network problem. I haven't seen the error before these past couple of weeks, but since have seen it quite a bit. Retrying once or twice usually works.

Yep! I was having the same issue until I noticed the WIFI/NETWORK icon on the bottom right blinking (as said above), so I decided to wait and see what happened. (I initially thought that it was telling me my WIFI signal was intermittent) Turns out, it's just loading the course.

Us sim players are an impatient bunch!

Funny, i have had that issue as well. Didn't know if you should single click or double and would be hitting the mouse over and over. Sometime its very fast other times slow.

I think it might have something to do with the course size. At least that sounds good to me!

Ok, I will try patience next time. I get on my wife sometimes for being click happy. I was wondering if it was ActiveX version or something. I have seen the WiFi thing blinking. I didn't realize it had to load up the course, but that makes sense.
