  • Feature Request Thread

We have a thread for issues with 2.5.4 but would it be worthwhile creating a feature request thread? If people post 1 suggestion per post others can use the 'like' functionality as a way of gauging interest across the community? I will therefore start:

I would like the ability to store metadata about practise sessions and club comparisons etc. Ideally this should also be searchable (e.g. show me sessions where I hit club x or ball y or from venue z).

There was a thread on this subject recently:
I really like the Skytrak. It has been very helpful for self fitting clubs. However, I really need the ability to name the clubs for comparison's sake and to

Personally, I would like to be able to set up more than one golfer in SkyTrak. Where multiple people can track their club data, and have to ability to select different users in the challenges and have that data stored. It kinda sucks when you pay $2000 for something, but only one person can actually use it.

+1 My whole family uses the skytrak for game improvement and its hard to tell whos numbers are whos.

At the risk of being controversial:
I think a guest mode (Blast motion has this) for people who want to use the device but not save data. I guess already possible by logging out.
I think the software packages should be licensed per user, not device. When my children are old enough to use the Skytrak properly, it seems fair to pay for a subscription (membership) for them. This is therefore already possible, but online leaderboards (much like xbox live) should definitely be added.
Perhaps therefore a family license for multiple users within a household?

Practice putting green(s), chipping, pitching and bunker play options around said green.

SkyPro integration - I want my poor man's GC2 HMT! Yeah, I know it's supposed to be coming sometime or another but another nudge can't hurt.

I don't know if the skytrak is capable, but data like club impact spot like the hmt does for foresight.

Also, the ability to put up walls at different ranges and of varying heights for chipping/pitching practice.

May seem as though I'm focusing too much attention on software side, but I am a little perturbed by the fact that I paid pretty substantial money on this piece of hardware, which I think is very good at what it does for the money btw, and have the software, even with the game improvement package, be so lame. I live in Maine, where we have substantial winter downtime. I am also a lower handicap (6.7 index) golfer with friends who are also lower handicaps (mostly 10 or under with a few outliers above 10 but under 20. It would be really nice to have:

          1. In challenges, have the selected club by one player retained in memory and not just carried forward to the next player.
          2. Camera angles from the range selectable in challenges.
          3. More information on screen about previous shot during challenges.
          4. Player names in challenges as mentioned in previous post.
          5. In general more information about shots somewhere other than the range--the GI pack seems very "slapped-on" so to speak. Needless to say, there is much room for improvement here and I am hoping that the recent increase in yearly cost for the service truly means big improvements to the software in the immediate future--keeping my fingers crossed because I want the Skytrak to succeed since I invested my hard earned money in this thing. GC2's integrated software, from what I have seen (on youtube videos, to be honest) simply blows Skytrak's away--there's no reason it should other than the fact that Foresight has put the development resources to it and Skytrak/Skygolf/Rapsido have not. Rant over.

I agree with this 100 percent. As a software engineer, it seems like most of these requests are fairly easy things to do. Hopefully they aren't putting all of their resources on new large features, and spend some time on the polish of existing features.

Off the back of someone else's suggestion:
Online leaderboards like xbox live with similar filters.

When practicing in target or skills practice, I would love a way to choose random yardage targets to shoot for, so your not hitting the same club for 3 or 6 shots straight and instead can hit all your bag in a 30 minute session or something.

I'd like to see total spin and axis in the exported pdf files instead of back and side spin, and all of the data available in skygolf360 and exportable from there. This one is pretty simple, but all of the above suggestions are great too.

I'd like to see a chipping mode that 1) picks up <10 yd chips every time (like putting mode does now), and 2) measures and passes along actual spin to TGC. Currently, short chipping in TGC is either frustrating (mostly no reads in putting mode), unrealistic (low, fixed spins under 20 yards in short chip correction mode), or impossible to hold (short chip correction off but in putting mode with zero spin).

I need the target line "offset" option!

For those unfamiliar, this if for projector users. It allows you to move the on screen target line from the center of the screen to line up with where our shots are actually hitting the screen. We have been told this is coming soon "sometime after the 2.5.4 release". I am adding here to hopefully get "likes" to motivate them to add asap.

                    • Be able to name clubs when comparing them, even just a note (xstiff, stiff, reg etc.)
                    • Make notes on each practice session
                    • The ability to delete saved sessions
                    • Change the colours on shot plotting, grey on grey is hard to make out
                    • A coloured grouping radius circle on shot plotting, matching the tracer colour
                    • Different users in practice mode
                    • Naming other users in challenge mode

Hey SkyTrak_Seth I know you're not very busy, so I have another feature request going forward. It would be great if you could have some sort of live remote viewing option available. That is to say that a Coach could view your data live as your are hitting during a remote coaching session. Any thought's on whether this would be something you'd consider? Any thoughts from other owners on whether this would be something of benefit? cheers.

Can probably just use Twitch for the live viewing.

As I believe this is a SkyTrak thread and not sim software related, there are already capabilities on "the other site" where a coach can review data for remote lessons using JNPG. I believe this has worked very well for some golfers there.

good comments guys and gals. I just wondered as more data is generated - the SkyPro integration, etc. If actual coach generated data might be useful? especially if a coach is not required to have a SkyTrak or licence. This would encourage more users to invest if they are serious about game improvement if it had this functionality. whether this could integrate to common coaching platforms like GASP and such is another thing. My thoughts are if they can send data to sim partners, they can send it elsewhere to a cloud that can be accessed by a live viewing platform is all.

A Stable wifi connection would be useful. Gets a bit annoying when the thing disconnects part way through a 10 target skills assessment. I have tired three routers all configured with simple SSID ON 2.4ghz with various channels selected.
