I am having major problems , It will sometimes take me 15-30 shots hit before it reads one! then it may read 4 or 5 in a row no problem , then it may quit reading the shot for 30 straight minutes!, It basically will not work at all in the skytrak app on the practice mode. it seems to work better when I do a challenge? , and with THE GOLF CLUB game its virtually completely useless, ill hit 15-20 shots just to get through the hole! , any suggestions?? It has never been dropped or even handled aggressively for that matter, after using it goes straight back in to the original box. I have it sitting level with mat, using white balls, just normal over head room lighting, I am connected network mode. suggestions please???

It's either a defective unit, or a sketchy internet connection. Try USB connection mode to rule out the latter.
It's helpful to know what the three lights are doing during these no-reads. If they all stay green and the laser light stays on, then the unit couldn't spot a ball leaving. If the laser light goes out and the top light turns red, then it waits a few seconds before turning all green again and turning the laser back on, then (I think) that's more common with a sketchy internet connection.
And if you're using any sort of protective case, let us know what kind, as those can affect reads, especially if not aligned perfectly with the laser and camera holes.- Ron at GunghoGolf.com - we specialize in TrackMan, FlightScope, Foresight, Uneekor, SkyTrak, Garmin, Bushnell, TGC, and E6 Connect. 512-861-4151 or email hello AT gunghogolf.com.

Just a thought, many people have been having similar issues with Network mode after the last hardware update. I'm not one of them, but there is a pretty lengthy thread on it somewhere. The "fix" has been to connect via USB. That is an unreliable solution but is wayyy better than the issues you are experiencing.

Did 18 holes in the tournament today....... 1 dropped shot. It may have been my fault.
Not going to say I don't have the issue but it was as close to perfect as it could be.

jlettgolf what surface are you hitting off and what is behind you? Sounds to me like it is having problems picking up the ball in flight, so I would be thinking of trying a few different things:
1. Try hitting off a different surface - I'm thinking of something like a piece of dark carpet or whatever and see if that changes things;
2. Vary your lighting - get something portable with a long cable, don't use the overhead lights and try moving it around so see if it makes a difference;
3. You could even try putting up a dark coloured sheet directly behind you;
If none of these make a difference, I'd be thinking defective unit.
