Hey Seth,
it is not about that you calculate the Spin Axis. We know that it is measured. But how does the flight model handle the measured data? I have the feeling, that the flight model does not take enough in calculation what happens during the last third of the trajectory. It MUST come down more straight after each kind of shape. But when I hit a fine draw the whole trajectory looks like a curve leaning to the side until the end.
But that shouldnt look like that. At the end every ball comes down straight (except from the real extreme shapes). Gravity loss of speed and spin, latest at the last third of the flight are taking the ball down.
Have alook at some top Tracer shots on the tour. They all come down straight. Without any exception.
Love the work James has done. Amazing machine Rapsodo/skytrak has made. Out of curiosity does skytrak do the algorithms to calculate the flight path or is it Rapsodo? If so in theory the Asian version might show a different flight model.

Just want to share my experience with you guys. Yesterday was at the range and I had my Skytrak unit with me. There was a Callaway stand doing tests with new clubs (drivers, fairways, etc.) They had a Trakman 4. I asked if we could make a session with both units for a try and they said it was ok. I hit at least 50 balls and the results were extraordinary, the guys from Callaway remained litterally astonished and surprised of the Skytrak. I don't keep neither remember the numbers of the session but what I can say I hit wedges, irons and woods and the launch angle and the ball speed were quite perfect, matching for both units. Almost equal (not more than 500,1000 rpm in some occasions) was the back spin. Distance was really ok (generally 2/5 meters of difference beetween both units). Carry matched almost always. Not really perfect was the side spin as the Skytrak unit generally tend to accentuate the draws and the fades, this has been widely discussed in the forum. But in my personal opinion this is widely negligible especially when you consider that at the end the ball falls in the place were it must fall (only the representation of the flight shows (rarely) a big curve).
Bye all
