  • Need help in making the switch

I am ready to buy a SkyTrak and want to have it up and running before our Master's party. I currently have an Optishot connected to an older laptop. The laptop is connected via HDMI to a HD overhead projector. The projector projects onto a 8' x 8' impact screen.

I also have a 55" TV in the same space with HDMI inputs.

Should I buy a new iPad (and run the HDMI dongle to the projector) or just buy a new computer and run the HDMI to the TV? I have a decent wireless signal---but do plan on being able to hardwire the system into the network.

    Thanks.

Do you want to just use the Skytrak as a driving range or do you plan on buying TGC or renting JNPG and playing simulated courses? Both of those software packages will need a gaming computer (there are tons of threads on here suggesting computer builds). I have never played WGT which is your other simulated course option, but I haven't heard anyone say they like it. If you get a gaming computer, you might as well hook it up to the projector for the full experience. You can buy an HDMI switch if you want to use it with the TV or monitor at other times.

yep, ipad is only good for the stuff you get directly from skygolf. To play real courses you need a 1500 computer so buy a computer. I went with ASUS.
