Looking through the specs on the SkyTrak site, it appears the only wireless connections mentioned are to an iPad. I picked up a new gaming computer to use with the Skytrak. I must be missing something.

If you go to Skytraks web site scroll down to the bottom of the home screen. There will be a tab for "Downloads", click that and you will be able to download the PC App for the gaming computer you have. It took me a long time to figure it out as well since Skytraks website has everything geared around Ipads. -

Only need ipad for wgt. I would highly recommend the golf club over wgt. Especially if you want to pay with friends.Comment

when skytrak first came out it own app would only work on an ipad. Also, I believe the first sim for the skytrak was WGT and it only worked on an iPAD. that might be why the web site has the iPAD first.Comment

If you are planning on building a Sim with projector does the ipad connect and give a good picture through the projector? Is there a minimum requirement in terms of Ipad generation you should use when it's going to be connected to projector?Comment

FWIW, I have an iPad Air that's about 3 years old and it runs Skytrak just fine. But as far as connecting it to the TV, the resolution is limited to the iPad native setting. That's to say that when I connected the iPad to my TV using an HDMI adapter, it did not fill the screen leaving black bars along the sides.

For my home sim, I tried the iPad Mini, iPad Pro and iPhone 6s Plus. Out of all of my apple devices, I prefer my iPhone as it was the only device that supported the native wide screen resolution of my projector. I hated seeing the black bars when projecting using the ipads. It just seems like wasted screen space.
The iPad Pro was a bit snappier for me than the phone or mini. But even with the better performance, I chose the phone as the resolution and filling up my hitting screen was more important than the shot delay. Especially since there was already a few second delay regardless of device. Another plus for the phone is that its more portable for when you want to take your skytrak to the range.
In the end I just bought a dedicated gaming PC for my sim. Given the investment in your home simulator, you owe it to yourself to get some better golf simulation software than what is available on IOS. -
Yeah the more I have looked into it I think I'd be getting a gaming laptop too and eventually hopefully have TGC running on it as from i've seen WGT doesn't seem the best- the cost of the thing is getting bigger and bigger though when you take into consideration the spec you need plus the lifetime membership of TGC.
