  • SkyTrak unit not reading any shot

    Dear,
    I took my unit few days ago to driving range and got it connected with Android app. It was working fine, however after some time it stopped reading the shots.
    I did not try anything after that until today when I connected the unit to PC and the unit is not reading ANY shot.
    I tried the next:
    Reset unit
    Uninstall the software
    Delete all SkyTrak data from the PC
    Install new software
    Reset device once again
    Membership confirmed active by SkyTrak support (online chat)

    I tried direct connection and USB as well. Both connections were successful, but not reading any shot.

    Your support and help is appreciated.

    Make sure you check the device is level (in the app) and the height. What I also found was I had to try different ball positions, with inside and forward of the dot being best for me.

      All setup is ok...I have been using the unit for long time without any major issue, so I am surprise about this one.

        Ok. I just mentioned that since you said you had taken it to the range. I thought maybe you adjusted the height or leveling while you were there.

      Thanks for starting the new thread. It just makes it easier to track! So when you say "it is not registering any shots", does that mean:

      1) When you hit a shot, the top light goes red and then eventually back to green, but nothing happens in the app?
      2) Top light always stays green, as if it never even sees a shot hit?

      If #2, then try a shot in LH mode. If it picks up, then I bet your laser curtain is out for RH. That's what tells the unit to start taking pictures when you hit a shot.

            Ok. Like I said, give it a go in left handed (you really don't even have to hit a shot, just waggle your club in front and see if you can get the unit to trigger). If it triggers in LH, the unfortunately it sounds like it may need to go back for repair.

              Tried in LH...and yes, it triggers when I waggles a club across the laser.
              I would like to explore all the options before confirming that the unit need to be repair since I am living in Vietnam and it is almost impossible to send my unit back to USA for repair.

                  Dear Guys,
                  Just to keep you updated with my issue, here is what I got from technical support:

                  "After reviewing the information provided, our technicians concluded that triggers can possibly be burned out with regular usage. The SkyTrak will have to be sent in for repair .
                  After we receive the unit at the location in US, you will be contacted with a quote on the repair cost.
                  Please let us know how you wish to proceed.
                  "


                  Does anyone know how much is the cost of repair based of above possible cause?

                      My unit is in for repair for a bad laser trigger right now. $183. My Skytrak had about 14k shots on it. How many does yours have? (You can find it on your skygolf360 profile page , under the skytrak tab in the upper left of the sessions report.).

                      I've been told this is a rare occurrence. I guess we'll see.

                        Johan,

                        If you have a non-iphone (android, etc) with a camera you can see the IR curtain in the camera. I did this when I was having issues with my unit. Maybe you can see if the IR curtain is working or not before sending it out. It sounds like left hand mode is working so maybe you can see a difference between the two modes.
