  • Simulator build

Ok, so I am new to the fourm im trying to start a simulator build. I need help on a lot I think I have decided to go with skytrack.. now I need to know how big my screen should be and what projector I will and basically everything in between. But if someone could help me with what screen size an what kind of projector I will need with it so I can start mapping out my space it would be much appreciated!! This is the size of my room. (18ft 5in length 15ft 8in Width 9ft 10in Height)

    Thanks

As big as you can fit without compromising the functionality of the room - unless it's a dedicated simulator room?

look through the build your own - screens and enclosures section for ideas. There are hundreds of build threads detailed there that should help you out.

I went with a package - allsportsystems - you will pay a little more but getting it right the first time generally saves money.

Which package did you go with thats where I had actually been looking but it says its intended to be 5 ft deep an I really don't want it that deep. So could I just cut the poles shorter and everything still be stable?

you can tell them how deep you want it and they will adjust the black wrapper for you. I went with the superbay, the HD screen and black wrapper. I also purchased the projector and terra shield for it. Very happy. They even return your emails or chats or calls after the sale.

I agree with getting a package. I was going to do it myself and what I've got now exceeds my expectations of what I would have put together myself. I used Golf Swing Systems in the UK. I've got a 3m x 2.4 screen put up in a garage conversion. Photos attached. Also connected satellite TV to the projector so quite often have family film nights in the simulator room watching (Generally kids films) on the big screen. I've got SkyTrak with E6 Golf.

Hi Gerry, how happy are you with the screen from Golf Swing Systems? I'm trying to decide between going with their enclosure or the one from Golf Tech Systems and as far as I can tell the main difference is that GSS use archery netting and GTS use an impact screen. If you are able to attach the photos you mentioned that would be great
