I've started saving to make the investment into a skytrak but really have my reservations about purchasing something that I've never tried let alone even seen. Are there any ways to try these without dropping large amounts of cash first?

Well if you have followed this forum, then you know there are enough Skytrak users on here to vouch for its authenticity. The ST measures the ball, so its quite accurate. Alot of us have had those reservations, including myself, but we made the plunge and it was well worth it. Hopefully someone is close to you and you can try it out, but there really isnt a need for it, order and enjoy!Comment

I had the same concerns and this forum has proved to be correct about the SkyTrak device.
The only warning I would add is that you need to understand that your "inside" swing is often different than your "outdoor" swing and it takes a bit to get over hitting balls inside. This has be highlighted several times, but it continues to cause new users to blame the SkyTrak for being "short".

At this point I would not have any reservations about recommending a SkyTrak unit. For the price point there is no comparison. However, I think the indoor/outdoor swing is overplayed. Yes there probably is a difference when first starting out. However, there are still some of us users that have distance issues, but I don't think it has anything to do with the SkyTrak unit as much as it does the mats. I say that because as I posted in a different thread my ceilings are probably 25-30 feet high. My cage is a 10x10x10. There's no way I'm going to hit anything :-). I do hit off a CCE mat which a number of people will tell you that if you hit one fat on those mats there is a big difference I'm still trying to figure out why I am a club short on my irons and 3 wood because IRL I'm a picker. I leave very little if any divot.I
I've got a couple of things I'm going to try out to see if I can get to the bottom of it.

My advice - DO NOT go cheap. Get a good mat, get a good computer, get a good router - and then hardwire everything. Do this - and the skytrak will kick ass. There are a lot of you tube videos about skytrak.Comment

Thanks everyone. I think I'm definitely going to make the leap. I was fortunate enough to be able to trade a firearm today for a very nice gaming pc. I tested its hardware against the requirements for JNPG and it easily exceeded all requirements.Comment

No reduction in latency but huge increase in stability. I hardly ever get any disconnects or missed shots since I hardwired everything.Comment

Well I skipped the testing phase and bought a skytrak today. That couple with a high end gaming computer and I'm over half way to having my simulator together. Installing new flooring in my garage tomorrow.Comment
