  • Official v3.0 SkyTrak App Release

    Hey all,

    We have launched the v3.0 app for PC, iOS, and Android. The new app has a new look and feel, but functionality is much the same. There was a lot of work done behind the scenes to pave the way for future enhancements. Hope you enjoy!

    Did you mention PC and Android because that's all you use, or is iOS working for you? There shouldn't be a difference between platforms. The way it "should" work is on a fresh install, the app needs an internet connection to be able to validate your SkyGolf 360 account credentials with the server. Once that happens, then the app should store that (assuming you checked 'remember me') for automatic login/log in at any time without internet. Whatever mode the unit is in should not matter.

      Yeah, sorry that's all I use - Android and PC. I'll keep an eye on it and conclude a solid repro for you.

      Sometimes on the range I find I'm spending 10 minutes or so trying to get things going with the login and connection - it's like the Android device connects to the SkyTrak's hotspot first, loses internet connection despite the Android device also having internet access via cell, and so fail the login as though invalid account details were entered.

      I can't be 100% sure of the steps I take to get it working, but I think I disconnect from SkyTrak's hotspot, log in via cell, then reconnect to SkyTrak's hotspot.

      I just tested on Android and works as intended for me.
      1) Downloaded fresh app
      2) Logged in and checked remember me (had internet)
      3) Closed app
      4) Turned off internet
      5) Opened app again and I was logged in

      The only way it won't remember your credentials is if you log out - that clears the 'remember me' function.

    I always have to re-enter my login credentials if there is no internet access regardless of the remember me option. I used to have a temporary setup at the bottom of my garden with no internet, if I didn't remember to logon in the house whilst I still had internet access the logon failed and cleared the logon details (this was on the PC version).

      simmb, are you logging out after each session? See the above post comment about Android testing. It's the same on PC, if you login with internet and check 'remember me', then there should be no reason to log in again unless you log out.

      Hi Seth, no I never log out of the app I just close it. I will upgrade to v3.0 and see if it does the same, I haven't used it for a month or so.

      Hi Seth,
      Downloaded V3 installed and logged on ticking "Remember Me". Closed app and opened again, no credentials required, all good.
      Closed app disabled wifi and opened app again and I get an error :- "username did not matched previously logged in users. Please log in online through this app at least once"
      That's always how it has been for me, if I logon with internet access it's fine as soon as I move out of wifi range and need to open/re-open the app it always asks for my logon details.

    I find switching from network to direct and back to network mode to be a complete nightmare. I've sorta given up on that and ONLY use my device in network mode which is pretty limiting...

      Ever since I updated
      1. I am getting more misreads and shots not registered,
      2. The Red dot is on but the Skytrak Unit doesn't respond it needs a reboot
      3. My shot distance has gone down by about 15 to 20 yards. Particularly the driver. The better your shot they lower the yards from the range
      4. Have repositioned with a Laser Pointer and got the direction set but still shots read off direction
      5. I am a very poor Golfer but couldnt have become worse in a weeks time
      6. I bought a refurbished unit, which was replaced since the earlier one was not reading properly, Perhaps I shouldnt have bought the refurbished
      7. I am lefty and every time I start the unit it asks me to choose the Lefty option again... whereas JNPG remembers me.

      Feeling a little frustrated at this time about having put in the money along with further Dollars on Game Imprvement plan, JNPG, New Country Club Elite mat and the works.

      Is it just me or others are having this problem as well!

        I too have had a lot more misreads in the last few days, but this is with SkyTrak connected to JNPG via its simconsole so the SkyTrak software isn't involved. I've found with SkyTrak that it's just extremely sensitive to mat, height, alignment, reflections and possibly other things I haven't discovered yet - and that's despite always facing the logo to the unit and using clean balls. I even found I started getting lots of no-reads on putts because I had an octagonal stance matt and the ball was falling of the edge before SkyTrak had finished with it.

      If you use the network mode wizard to program your unit, then those credentials are stored on the SkyTrak unit. If you go outside the range of the network, then the unit will fall back to direct mode, but it's still in network mode priority (meaning it always tries to find that network on startup). If you are connected to the app in network mode and click direct mode, then it makes the unit default to direct mode startup, but those credentials should be still be saved, so all you have to do is click network mode in the app and the fields should already be filled in. Haven't changed anything with that in v3.0. I'll test this again tomorrow morning.

        Really sorry to hear of your troubles! We haven't changed anything that could affect misreads, and certainly not anything that would affect the flight model. Is there a certain type of shot that isn't capturing for you? Would love to help troubleshoot.

        FYI, did you set your left handedness in your Profile (upper right of the dashboard)? That's where the defaults are set. You can always override them in practice, but it always goes back to what you have set in your profile.

            Not too interested in the club data display as it won't be accurate enough not to be misleading, but am interested to see how much you can improve the SkyTrak's big weakpoint, HLA accuracy, with it. If you could get that to 1°, the same as GC2, I'd buy the R-motion.

            The problem is JNPG has to give massive assists to HLA in putting and chipping to make the data usable for a sim - including using a tenth (!) of the reported HLA for putts under 3.3 mph. It means getting a rude shock when I play real golf.

              Yes I did set the Left hand in my profile and it switches to right hand each time turn the unit on again. I find that the shots that are really good and hit very well and goes and hits the center of my impact screen about 10 feet away that doesnt register almost always... otherwise randomly it doesnt recognize. You know you have it that super shot because its effortless and you couldnt feel the impact of the golf ball on the club and the ball makes a huge dent in the impact screen 10ft aways which needs to smoothened. Hope this helps. Also the putting is 50% mis reads.

                I've also been having this issue, 3-4 sweet strikes in a row, that don't get picked up, then frustrated take a bad swing and shank it, and it picks it up no worries,

                this should probably be moved to a new topic, as it happens in TGC, as well as the Skytrack app, so appears to be more hardware related.

                Yeah, definitely something hardware since it's been reported in TGC and JNPG - neither of which were remotely affected by this update.

              SkyTrak_Seth Thanks for the update, love the new look and the scrolling feature on shot history has been fixed, with being able to click anywhere on the scroll bar and the whole bar moves, havent tested out deleting a shot to see if it stays where the shot was located at but will test that this evening. One thing i have noticed that i wanted to make aware or bring attention to is the battery level indicator. Since the update i have let my skytrak charge fully but everytime when i conenct and load the app on pc i havent seen any percentage higher than 84% and the bar never shows fully green. This happened originally when i got my skytrak but after a few charges and sessions of the app it mustve either sync'd itself or maybe the batter got a boost or something not for sure but it was showing a full solid green inside the battery indicator. Was wondering if this was a bug or was needing a fix or if my battery has literally lost 15% of its power and i've only had the unit since the last fathers day sale this yr so i got it back in june?

                Thanks! It's possible that the unit battery may need to 'relearn'. To do this, you can let it drain completely (all three lights on the front go red). Then give it a full charge overnight.

                I have to say, I like to looks of the new version! I have not come across anything bad to report. (I'm right handed) My distances are the same as they have been in the past. I finally used the bag mapping feature for the first time, and love it!

                  Updated Skytrak software this evening. Checked Remember Me. Logged in successfully. Next login I had to enter email and password again. Always have had issues with this. Appears others have too. Any thoughts??
