I came up with a way to make sure I always know exactly where the aim line is. My setup is in my garage and is "semi-permanent" so there are occasional times I will move it out of the way.
I also included a pic from the front looking backwards.
This target line has DRAMATICALLY helped me to know exactly where to aim and has drastically improved my offline performance.
My extension platform in front of my hitting mat is wood as I don't use my skytrak for putting. If you putt on skytrak and want grass in front, you can use the same exact approach and cover the front extension with turf and then figure out a way to paint your line on the turf.
I really like this setup as it has helped me out a ton.
- Built platform that sits to the side of my hitting mat
- There is a "guiderail" piece of wood screwed to the platform
- The skytrak is flush up against guiderail (and secured with bungees)
- There is a piece of wood that is attached to the platform and this piece extends out in front of my hitting mat. This is the part with the red line on it
- I painted a red line on the extension piece
- The red line is parallel to guiderail and hence parallel to the skytrak unit
- If the platform gets shifted a bit, the red stripe shifts along with the platform and I always know where my exact parallel target line is.

) and I have to replace it few inch every "X" shots. With your setup, does your mat "push" your red Platform (and the skytrak Platform by extension ?).
