  • Would you buy this mat for Skytrak?

I was thinking of buying this mat as it's on sale. http://www.fiberbuilt.com/golf/produ...t/#prettyPhoto[product-gallery]/0

The mat will be in my garage, on level concrete floor. That said, do you think it would be an issue if I placed the skytrak on the other side of the hitting strip where the ball tray is without any issues?

I've read it's best not to put the skytrak on the mat but I'd imagine this won't move much given the rubber foundation? Thanks and appreciate any feedback.

I have a similar mat but instead of the section you want to put the SkyTrak on I have a skinnier ball tray. The good thing with this mat is that you can remove that section if there are issues

I think the concern about putting the ST on the mat is that either the mat shifts a bit or the ST itself will shift throughout the hitting session and mess up your alignment in relation to the ST’s alignment. I have been looking hard at the fiberbuilt 4x5 setup. It is very similar to that which you posted. You might also consider putting the ball tray on the backside of the hitting mat (what I mean is where your back foot will be, not your back). I have my ball tray by the back foot and works fine since my ST is on its own platform next to my hitting platform.

Thanks for the feedback. I went ahead and purchased it. They are really heavy mats with rubber foundation and I don't think it will slide too much. Will update you guys.

Fiberbuilt has a holiday sale going on fyi, on the 4 x 5 personal mats (knocked down to $399) and a few others including the one I posted above.

you will like it alot. On mine the stance mat is like 150lbs. so no worry about it sliding around, but a separate platform for my skytrak is what I use. The mat doesn't hurt your wrists at all and you can swing down and through. Only drawback is putting isn't the easiest on it. Presently designing a slide platform for my skytrak so I can slide it forward and putt off of a different surface.

Thanks for the heads up on the sale!

thanks. The issue is that there's too much real estate on the other side of the strip and if I set up my skytrak outside that on a seperate platform, the red dot will not reach the panel. Too far away.

I'm rolling the dice and putting my skytrak unit on the mat, on the other side of the panel. For those curious, this exact mat is 20% off.

Ya you'd be happy with a divotaction if you got one. Putting is vital to golf, and divotaction allows you to hit through the ball and putt of it.

Now that you’ve had it for a while, any issues with using the SkyTrak on the far side turf? I just got a quote from fiberbuilt for this same setup, but this is a key deciding factor for that particular mat.

            Thanks!

I have the mat sitting on my hard garage floor and it doesn't slide or move so setting up your skytrak on the far side works perfectly.

Still loving the Fiberbuilt? Any problems putting off of it?

I bought this. Great quality and excellent to hit from. I saw it at a local golf academy. Top class.

I purchased 2 of the 1' x1' Fiberbuilt "Fairway" mat pieces. (Around $60 each) These link together like puzzle pieces. It of course makes a 1' x 2' hitting area and has been awesome! Just about everyone that hits off of it comments on the real feel of this turf.

love it. I know some have an issue with putting on fiberbuilt mat but it doesn't bother me.
