I'm currently using an iPad for the ST app and playing some with WGT. The ST app has been useful for getting some winter practice in and WGT is, well, WGT is what it is. That's not my reason for creating this forum topic. I've been preparing to buy a PC with a GPU capable of running a golf sim and now I'm trying to decide which sim I'm going to get a year's subscription for. From the various forums that I have read, and this is by no means agreed by all, it seems like the golf club is probably the most satisfying golf sim experience. But it is too expensive for me. In my price range, the choices are e6 tru golf, JNPG and Creative Golf 3D(haven't seen much in the way of reviews on that one). My hope is that you are willing to tell me what you think is the best option and why.

I was you two months ago. I was using the Ipad app for about 8 months but took some time piecing together a computer and began to look at software. I went with JNPG and it is amazing! The software is great with high-quality courses and excellent realistic gameplay. I even enjoy putting as long as everything is aligned properly. For me, the best part of JNPG is getting online and on tour where you play can with and compete against others. Every week there are new tournaments and it is ridiculously addicting. I really liked my Skytrak before, but now I am a full-blown addict. JNPG was a crazy good choice for me but you will have to figure out what you want

I have a ST. I got the free trial of e6golf and didn't really enjoy it all that much. After a lot of reading (sim software is so expensive after all) I took the plunge for TGC. I've no regrets. I love the graphics, the gameplay, as well as the support which has been top-notch.
My primary reasons for going with TGC were the price, the number of courses available, and the course creator. I know all sim software have the strengths and weaknesses. I felt that TGC was best for me, and it was.Comment

Make certain to understand total costs of each option and yearly recurring fees. Year two you may be surprised at what you've payed vs paying upfront one time. But make sure the software fits what you are looking for.Comment

Jon I think you have to ask yourself what you're looking for in your SIM in order to figure this one out. Also, know that you're on a forum that is connected to one of those SIM products, so do understand that that will influence the responses you get.Originally posted by Jon View Post
Are you looking to play tour events? Just play courses on your own? Multiplayer rounds? How accurate do you want the courses to be? Do you want stats tracking? Those are the questions that will better guide your decision.
There are really only two good options IMO (TGC and JNPG), so if I were you I'd evaluate them both based on the above. Additionally, check out graphics and find out what you prefer there (videos on YouTube, etc), as that is a personal choice to consider as well. Hope that helps!Comment

Jon, the only thing else I considered was the state of the market. Paying 250 a year will cost less at the start and more after a number of years, but even in this last year, there have been more sim options than ever. I didn't want to get too locked in and realize that a new version was coming out and I needed to foot another big bill, or that with more options, prices could drop. These are just my reasons but to each their own.Comment

Give you something else to think about........
I have TGC and I love it. The tournament's are a lot of fun and I have found a lot of courses I really like. Protee's customer service can't be beat !!
now the hard oart....... TGC2 gas been reported to be on the verg of being released for a few months now. What if you buy TGC now and when TGC2 gets released you don't like it ?????? Will your purchase be backward compatible????

I can compare JNPG and CG3D. After one year's I switched from JNPG to CG3D for the following reasons:
1. One time fee option
2. Bigger opportunities for short and long game training (chip and putt area, putting green, practise on course - diffent hole, several driving range areas) and family fun (minigolf, demolition golf, kids golf etc.)
3. Greater reliability of SkyTrak connection to the game (no need for PGsimconsole).
In addition, I have discovered functionality that JPNG does not have in my mind. This is a "free walking" option that means I can easily check the surroundings of the ball position (including the head over).
You have the chance to find out if you are not mind the branches above you or how high a shot you have to play through.
With CG3D, you can also try the demo (although limited to one hole per course or 3 strokes in other activities).
