I’ve heard that a new E6, named Connect, will be released in early 2018. I’d really appreciate info on it like actual release date, trial versions, price & packages, and required PC spec.
With the latest iPad pro, the processing speed is there, probably still not adequate for VR stuff, but hopefully good enough for golf sim. I've stuck with WGT so far due to my reluctance to buy or assemble a big clunky PC with a fast video card to in my basement just for golf sim. If E6 connect can offer iOS support and good enough graphics, then it might be time for me to finally upgrade to a real golf sim.
You're probably still going to need to have the e6 software before you can have the e6 connect. That's like $1500-$1800. A pc would run you much less if that's the case.
The video on the E6 website says January 2018 on it.
I sent them an email a few days ago asking - but obviously they’ve been closed with it being a weekend and New Year.
I assume you'd still need to have the e6 software which is like $1500-$1800 right? Hope I'm wrong, I've always wanted the E6 golf software but can't justify spending that kind of money not to mention the cost to buy courses is ridiculous
with a skytrak you rent the software - I think 250 but course paks are 400 each. I am think and hoping the new e6 connect will be 250 rent and then the cost of e6 connect with its own golf course. I would think 40 to 50 a month. Which does add up, but is just one green fee and an average course. It is nice to have choices. Think about a golf sim 5 years agoe - 50,000
According to the sales rep, it will be announced at the PGA show later this month.
I asked it if would be an upgrade or a stand alone product... he said he couldn’t answer that as he’s still in discussions with the 14 companies they deal with.
Short answer - if you’re looking to buy E6 at the moment... WAIT!

Cool. I'd pay a small monthly fee for this if not connected with the main software. Can't afford to pony up the $1500 for the main software though. Couple weeks I guess we will know.
I received this response from TruGolf regarding my request for info regarding the release of E6 Connect:
We haven’t made a formal announcement for E6 Connect. We will be making that announcement at the PGA show in Orlando for Connect. I would say purchasing E6 1.6 is good right now as there is still a lot of development for Connect.
All we have to do is look at how long it took them to bring out e6 1.6, which we will all remember was supposed to b game changing and something more than what was finally released. At the time I had discussions with the sales team and even back then they spoke to being able to play e6 on an IOS device and this was about four plus years ago now. So they likely should have something by now and hopefully it will be the game changing software that I had hoped for all those years ago.
