  • Moving SkyTrak for different shots

I know there are several posts dealing with this, and have seen various solutions, but I would really like more input yet on this topic.

I want to use my new Fiberbuilt mat (coming via FedEx soon), and hit tee shots from one of the built in tee positions, and then move my SkyTrak for approach shots, chips, putts, etc. Does anyone think they have the perfect solution for this? I'm kind of leaning towards some sort of sliding mechanism. However, I ordered the 4x7 studio mat and so the SkyTrak will sit on the mat itself, no way around this now and if I built some sort of slider, my SkyTrak would not be level with the hitting surface, I figure at best it would be an inch above the surface if I build a slider. Thoughts? Really don't want to cut into my new mat to "build it in".

My next thought is going with maybe just a piece of plexiglass, which wouldn't be very thick and I'm sure it would move around easily sliding on the 2 foot section between the hitting strip and the edge of the mat. I could probably make an L shaped end and it would hang over the edge, keeping it aligned. Anyone done something like this? Thoughts?

Another one I have seen here is Stingreye suggesting a Handy Caddy (they are like $10 on Amazon), they are for putting on your countertop and sliding your coffee maker out and then back in again. They are 1.3" thick, so even if they work great (I suspect they are fairly flimsy and would probably slide around, unless affixed to the mat and probably the SkyTrak itself), my unit would be 1.3" above the hitting surface. Anybody use this method?

Since i don't have the mat yet, I'm not sure if this is a viable option or not, but my brain thinks that maybe the hitting strip comes out of the mat's base very easily and I could leave the SkyTrak in one fixed position (like I do now with my current mat, and I suspect most people do), and just flip the mat, moving the tee from the #2 position, back to the #3 position, and out of the way for my iron shots. Can anyone with this mat confirm the viability of this option? Here is a link to the mat that I have coming:

Lastly, maybe I will get my SkyTrak aligned with the tee position, make some marks on the turf, maybe some tape outlines, and then move it back six inches or whatever, align it, draw some more lines, and then just move it into position for every shot. I could take this a step further (if putting is atrocious on the Fiberbuilt), and put some marks on my "putting surface" in front of the Fiberbuilt, having three different positions to "place" the SkyTrak "in". Anyone do this?

Please give me any other suggestions that you or other users are using.

    Thank you all in advance.

P.S. 90% of my play is TGC, I do play JNPG as well and very little with the actual SkyTrak software.

Here's what I built so I can putt off different Mat than my fibrebuilt.
