Bought some balls specifically for the ST. Now how do I mark them to get the best possible readings? Thanks.

How to mark golf balls for SkyTrak?

No need to mark the balls. If you are worried about shots not getting picked up, turn the logo towards the camera. I would highly recommend this with the driver. With irons I just roll the ball to the dot and hit away without worrying about the logo. Also, if you are hitting into a screen and mark the balls, there is a potential for the marking to rub off on your screen.

I use red Truvis balls and the red certainly rubs off. I can't say that I see it on the screen though. I do the same as sandbar with normal balls - I just hit em and I don't get many misreads. If I do get a misread then I make sure for the next shot that the logo points towards my ST and everything is OK

I played recently on HDgolf symulator and they are using special stickers from 3M reflecting tapes to mark golf balls.
It give better reading of spin rates by simularor camera.
Addional benefit vs normal markers is that tape is not staining impact screen.

We don't technically require any mark on the ball, but having one certainly makes it easier to read the spin. Like others have said, markers can rub off if you are hitting into a white screen, and a black logo will suffice (I usually try to use the small straight side logo like Pro V1X). I'm really not sure how the red soccer-style balls work better because the infrared cameras/lighting should nearly filter out the red
EDIT - You can see in the attachment of the NC State logo ball, the inside of that logo is a nice brilliant red. Without the black outline, it would be nearly indistinguishable from the white ball.Last edited by SkyTrak_Seth; 01-12-2018, 05:07 PM.
