  • Skytrack stuck in Network Mode

My unit seems to be stuck in network mode but will not connect. When I turn the unit on, the bottom power light is green, the Wi-Fi light flashes amber, and the ready light is solid red. The user's manual says that indicates the unit is in network mode and is trying to connect but it never does. I tried resetting the unit by pressing the pin hole on the bottom but that does not work. Pressing the button seems to do nothing. Yes, i held it down for at least 10 seconds. I also tried resetting my router to see if that helps but nothing. I'm very frustrated with this unit. I just got it back from an RMA. I sent it in because it wasn't reading the shots correctly (ex. Driver 50 yds, wedge 190 yds, etc...). They returned it to me and said they could not find anything wrong with it. So I plugged it in and tried to connect it to my home network and nothing. I've owned it less than a year. Does anyone know how to reset this thing? Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the exact same thing that happened to me last night... I think it was like the following from bottom to top:

    Solid green
    flashing yellow
    Red

I've had a hell of a time with my network lately, so I was just chalking it up to that, but maybe there's a bug? SkyTrak_Seth , SkyTrak_James , SkyTrak_Rahim
It would not reset (via the pinhole button no matter how long I held it) until I did the following:

    shut off skytrak,
unplug router it was trying to connect to,
Turn on skytrak (now it shouldn't flash yellow since the router is off),
now hold down the pinhole reset button for about 10 seconds until all lights are amber them let go.

    That work for you too?

Weird that I never had this happen in >1 year, and then I see you post about it the next day, gotta be a bug.

That worked.....I never even thought of turning off the router before I tried resetting the Skytrak. All I did was reset it thinking that would clear anything trying to connect to it. Thanks for the quick reply allen2be. I can actually start playing again after 3 weeks of not having it.

No worries. I'd have been having withdrawals after 1 week haha.

That's really weird. So you guys are saying the yellow light just continued to flash indefinitely? There should be a timeout in place.

What you are doing by unplugging the router is the same as just having the unit outside of the range of your network (so really you could just walk down the block a few houses and turn the unit on) - the unit still boots in network mode priority but it can't find it, so it reverts back to direct mode. NOTE - if you do not either reset the unit at this point OR in the app select the direct mode option, the unit will continue to boot in network mode priority and try to find that network. Since you both did reset it, did either of you try putting the unit back into network mode? Very curious if it would connect then.

Correct. I probably let it flash for at least 2 minutes at one point and it did not change. Yes, network mode worked after a reset.

It is possible that I typed in the SSID password incorrectly the first time when it hung on the flashing yellow, but I don't think that was the case (just trying to give you something to go off from to replicate it)
