  • Skylark w/E6...or TGC?

I have the 30-day demo of the E6 and the Wade Hampton course. I love it---except for not being able to putt from the fringe. Is TGC better than E6 on the SkyTrak? Anyway to try the TGC software for a comparison?

I started out with E6. I couldn't hole a putt to save my life. Always played with 10 foot gimmes. Got TGC a couple weeks ago. Instantly my putting was better. I even holed a 37 footer tonight. I like that on E6 you can select your tee box. You cant do that on TGC. But you can search for courses in the yardage you want to play. I also think the practice areas are better on E6. You can select targets and distances. I've only used the range once in TGC, but I'd rather use the Skytrak range. I never really figured out online play on E6. Seems like a lot more guys use TGC for online tournaments. But i didn't really try on the E6 side. I haven't played local multiplayer with TGC yet but it was fairly easy on E6 and everyones settings could be different. You have waaaaaayyyyyy more course selections in TGC. I didn't like that to add course packs were 400 on E6. I just did a one year rental for 300 I think. To buy it outright I think is 1800. To buy TGC was 795. Both are great software. Each have their pros and cons. I think TGC has the better value to be honest. And I bought knowing TGC2 is coming. I'm hoping the upgrade charge will be minimal.

      Thanks!

How soon is TGC expected? Is there a way to try TGC to compare it against E6?

TGC is out now....version 2 is expected sometime this year. I also have both and like the last person mentioned both have their advantages and disadvantages. If tour play is your thing TGC is for you for sure.

TGC does not have a free trial for the sim software unfortunately.

Buy the PC version of TGC on steam for say $20 and try it out, the sim-version is the same software, same courses etc.
