Skytrak Ipad or Computer

Does anyone have any thoughts on the Ipad vs Computer to power my Skytrak
Are the graphics the same quality?
Will there be a less delay of seeing the shot on the computer?
More course options on the computer

The Ipad is clearly a less expensive option - but I don't want to be short sighted.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I am using an iPad Pro and the image/graphic quality is great in practice mode. I actually am grateful for the shot delay, it gives me time to make sure I keep track of my ball after contact. Plus, there is a replay option if you want to view your shot again. I haven't been able to play on WGT yet due to not having WiFi in my garage. The biggest downside to only having an iPad is being limited to only playing on WGT. The consensus on here seems to be WGT is the least liked simulation play.

It really depends on whether you want to use a 3rd party simulator software. PC is really the way to go if you are. If you are content with the range, like me, an iPhone/iPad is great especially if you have an apple tv hooked up to a monitor or projector.

If you are just planning on using the driving range and viewing on your computer or ipad, an IPad works wonderfully. I went that route for the first several months while getting used to ST and figuring out what I wanted to do going forward...in other words how much more money can I sink into this thing before the wife gets annoyed. I then tried getting my ipad to play through a projector and TV(not at the same time) and I couldn't get the black bars on the side to go away. Very possible it was user error, but it annoyed me. I knew I eventually wanted to get TGC so I bit the bullet and bought a gaming computer. If you are thinking you want to use one of the other sims, ie TGC or JNPG, and you haven't purchased a computer yet, make sure you check out the required specs for the sims. You don't want to buy a computer that will handle ST and then have to turn around and buy another since the specs aren't up to par for what TGC or JNPG require. One other note, an IPAD won't power/charge the ST. It will be connected via a wireless signal and you will have to plug into an outlet to charge. You can hook a PC up via USB which will power the unit while you play. In regards to the delay, I didn't find any noticeable difference between IPAD and PC. The delay is a little bothersome at first, but after a couple range sessions you get used to it. And like CMCkelvmi said, you get to concentrate on your shot since you aren't worrying about looking up immediately to see where the ball is flying.

The newer iPad's are comparable with PC processing speed, so the delay is about the same. As others mentioned, it really comes down to whether or not you want to use a simulation partner other than WGT, or if you want to mirror to a TV (iPad doesn't give you a 16:9 output).

I think WGT has the best grahpics...they are real pics of the course. The down side is one player and a host of other options. I am not sure if you can pick tee boxes, it has been a while since I played it, but I think you can.
